Moé Moé Rabu

Continuing on from last episode, this time we get to see all the fights between the girls, and I would have to say that despite it being a very short and quick bout, it’s definitely the best episode so far. Most of the girls were kicking arse, even Miyako who was still just a beginner, and really, Tamaki is just unbeatable. Though I can see how tough it was for Tamaki to use half her ability when asked by Toraji, as it’s probably something Tamaki is not really accustomed to. But to me, it feels as if she isn’t using her full strength majority of the time. It’s more like she’s well-refined in the basics and can execute them well.

Impressions

One of the surprising things this episode was how Sayako remembered what Tamaki had taught them earlier about footwork, and how she applied it right in the middle of a match. It goes to show that Sayako does have talent when she is calmed and focused, rather than being all wound up. Dan-kun also wins points as it shows that he already knows about Miyako’s true personality, and his excuse to goto the toilet shows that. Miyako probably doesn’t know that Dan-kun knows of her dark side, but it’ll be interesting to see what will happen once it’s out in the open. Kirino also showed that she is pretty skilled and that she learns some of the things that Tamaki has taught them.

So far with Bamboo Blade, I like how they mix in all the action scenes with the doses of humour now and then and it works well. It hasn’t gotten to a point where it’s just jokes all the time, but also doesn’t make it all too serious either, which is what makes this such an enjoyable watch so far. I’m also surprised at how fast the girls had improved, if even only slightly, but it also shows that Tamaki is really strong. Though we’ll find out how strong she is now that Toraji’s sempai wants to fight Tamaki. And judging from the preview, it seems that Tamaki will get knocked down. Have to wait till next episode to see what happens. Also Tamaki wearing glasses is pretty cute~~
