Moé Moé Rabu

Well we’re definitely in full swing of the Fuko arc, and the laughs keep coming. The whole Tomoya switching with Ryou was just hilarious, but I find it pretty cute how Ryou was getting embarrassed as she kept up the act. Though seeing Kyou’s sudden appearance and wanting to punish Tomoya makes me wonder if she has a ever so watchful eye over her sister. What I do hope in some way is that they develop a story with Kyou’s arc and explain why she is over-protective of Ryou, but then, it could just be the whole sisterly-love thing. Other funny and cute moments include Nagisa getting embarrassed about the thought of Tomoya as her boyfriend, and how Fuko used the Isogai surname and Tomoya rushing out.

Impressions

Although the humour continues, we still get some of the more serious aspect of the story in play. It seems more and more that Fuko is a ghost, or some kind of spirit, but it’s rather odd how everyone can see and touch her just like a normal girl. Although the element of Fuko having never attended a class doesn’t seem to fit right, but of course, if she is a spirit, then it makes sense. The scene of everyone attending class and Fuko as class rep was pretty heartwarming, and it felt so natural with everyone acting like they normally do, especially Sunohara, but more so it was Nagisa who decided to help Fuko and setting aside the establishment of the drama club that made this much more heartwarming.

This episode is still a little dry in terms of story, but it is starting to pick up now. I do wonder what would happen if Fuko met her sister, though I don’t think they’ll meet in the next episode. It also appears that the old teacher plays a role in the story so it’ll be interesting to see how this plays all out for Fuko’s arc, but given the slow pacing so far, it may be at least another 2 or 3 episodes until we see the start of a new arc.
