So now we’re up to the fourth episode and Yoshiyuki is still with Koko. Though this somewhat doesn’t surprise me given how episode three ended but I can pretty much guess that Koko is going to be with Yoshiyuki throughout the series. So far none of the other girls seem to be a contender for Yoshiyuki, with the exception of Yume, and possibly Nanaka. This episode shows Yume a little bit more angrier than usual, which could be hiding her feelings for Yoshiyuki. Still, it’s a little too early to tell if that is the case.

Impressions
The whole “making a memory” thing was dead easy to guess what it was. Really, Koko isn’t the kind of girl who is very straightforward, plus I think she would die from embarrassment if the topic of sex was ever brought up. With Yoshiyuki dreaming of other people’s dreams, I do wonder if it’s the power of the sakura trees and if it’ll play a role later in the series just like it did in the original Da Capo series. I do know his dreams play an important role in the game, but I’m not too sure on how much it has a role in Koko’s route (since I never played her route). Another thing as well, by far I prefer the way Juniichi’s dream sequences go, as they felt a little more dramatic, where Yoshiyuki’s is more like a straight deja vu.
Many wonderful moments throughout this episode with the other girls. Such as Otome yelling out to Yoshiyuki in the middle of the assembly, Anzu’s teasing just before the race, and even Yume taking Yoshiyuki’s clothes. Still, all the girls feel like side characters rather than contenders for Yoshiyuki’s heart which kind of irks me right now as I want to see some development amongst the girls. And the animation in parts of the episode don’t help either, however Koko remains to be animated more so than the others.
This episode also feels somewhat fillerish, but it gives an excuse to develop more on Yoshiyuki and Koko’s relationship, despite the constant interruptions they had. But it’s also this episode that seems to make it solid fact that Koko won’t be dumped anytime soon. Plus I think the whole sports carnival is an event from the Da Capo II Spring Celebration game, which I have yet to play myself. Anyway, hope that the next episode will have some development on the other girls.

I wish there will be more moments with Otome. Not that seeing the relation between Koko and Yoshiyuki growing is kindda “boring”, but well… it is so sloooooow -_-
