OP: “Kaze Sagashi” by Kiyoura Natsumi
This week we get to see the actual OP sequence, it does well to reflect what the series is about. Just the everyday slow-paced life of Sora and of the people around her.
an otaku fan of all things moé

Another series that I’m picking up this season is Bamboo Blade, simply because this is funny yet simple show. This episode focuses mainly on Tamaki and how she got into kendo. I find it rather cute how she was influenced by sentai shows and she believes she’s an ally of justice, because serious, who hasn’t thought that Power Rangers was cool back in the good old days? But I also like how they flashed back to Tamaki’s father teaching her what kendo is about as it shows two sides of a coin on how Tamaki perceives kendo.

If there’s one thing I hate seeing in school romances, it’s when the couples are hesitant about making a move. Just seeing Yoshiyuki and Koko being all embarrassed and their relationship not developing fills me with much rage, but also makes me wonder if they’re going to be able to cover all the girls in the few episodes we have left. Introducing Minatsu is good and all, but using an entire episode just for her seems a little wasteful. Although it does establish her place in the cast, however with Yoshiyuki assigned to look after her, I hope the next few episodes are of him looking after her.

Finally I have reached the end of my preview list (well for now) and it’s none other than Genshiken 2. It’s always nice to be able to delve into the world of otakuism but through the world of others, and that’s what Genshiken is all about, but with a slice of reality thrown in, and that’s what makes it such a good series. The first episode covers the group having won a chance to enter Comifes (well Comiket to be exact) and we can see the excitement brewing. Having actually attended Comiket before, I know exactly how the guys feel and the opportunities to go and hit the vendors/circles before anyone else.

For a first episode, this was hella confusing at the start. The constant switching between the past and present was kind of hard to keep track of what the story was, or is about as they kind of threw us right in the middle of a pre-emptive battle. It wasn’t until the end of the episode that I realised that Priecia was not Princea, and I could only tell them apart by their eye colour. But then I also remembered that Prism Ark is the sequel to Prism Heart, lol.

OP: “Aozora loop” by marble
It’s been a while since I last heard a marble song, the last one was “Mebae Drive” from Hidamari Sketch. A very nice OP which covers all the girls in the series.
Being a fan of a particular series can get pretty tough, especially when they release a whole bunch of merchandise for it. However being a BIG fan of a particular series, you don’t care what they release, as long as you get it. Having a browse through Amazon Japan a few weeks ago, I saw this and ordered it straight away. Only arriving sometime last week, it’s finally here - sola Visual Fanbook.
