Clannad – 02

Many funny moments happened through out this episode, but I would definitely have to say Tomoya saying Kyou is bi was down right hilarious. But more so with Ryou actually believing it for a moment. Though I guess we could see it as Tomoya getting revenge for nearly being run over by Kyou’s scooter. Other moments include Tomoyo’s 528 hit combo and Fuuko’s reaction to the question about her star.

What I like so far from Clannad is how they incorporate all the humour, but also bring in the serious overtones without it making seem weird. As Tomoya spends more time with Nagisa, we get to see much more happening and it does feel a little fast paced, but given that Clannad itself is quite long, KyoAni has still done a good job. Tomoya’s reaction to his father I found a little surprising, especially how his father picked up the dango and Tomoya thought of Nagisa. I guess we could see that Tomoya feels that if his father was involved, it would affect Nagisa in a sense. Though I am interested in how Tomoya and his father got to how they are, but I’m sure we’ll see that in future episodes.

Well all the main heroines have now been introduced. Hearing Mamiko Noto as Kotomi was just a treat. Though given her character, we won’t be hearing too much from her this early on. Plus Nonaka Ai as Fuuko, she just sounds awesomely cute. I look forward to seeing more of both Fuuko and Kotomi, but really, I just want more Kyou screentime, lol.

Also I will go ahead and post a weekly merchandise once I’ve caught up with the rest of the current season. So look forward to seeing what I have.

Ah, wonderful review, well done. I’ll be sure to watch it as soon as I can.

By the way, are you familiar with the Visual Novel version of Clannad?

AK: I only played the game for a short time. I know just the basic character introductions but anything beyond that is new to me.
