Prism Ark – 01

For a first episode, this was hella confusing at the start. The constant switching between the past and present was kind of hard to keep track of what the story was, or is about as they kind of threw us right in the middle of a pre-emptive battle. It wasn’t until the end of the episode that I realised that Priecia was not Princea, and I could only tell them apart by their eye colour. But then I also remembered that Prism Ark is the sequel to Prism Heart, lol.

Impressions

Despite the sudden random changing of scenes, Prism Ark turned out to be an alright episode. So far nothing has impressed me too much, but the fighting of Hyaweh’s group and Sister Hell was done pretty well. Animation is pretty solid with some cute character designs for the girls, but man, Sister Hell, she’s just so awesome. Front Line are the ones doing the animation production, and honestly, I’ve never heard of them, so lets hope they keep can keep the quality going.

Having not played the game, I’m not sure what to expect from Prism Ark. With this episode somewhat being a prologue than an introduction, we can slightly see what’s going to happen throughout the series. What I do hope is that they don’t keep jumping between the past and present again otherwise I’m going to lose interest very quickly. So far they haven’t given us much about the characters themselves except for Princea, and that’s all in the past, but I can take a stab at how Priecia is related. I’ll be giving this a few more episodes to see whether it’s worth watching still, but a definite not blogging series.

Opening Sequence:

OP: “Soshite Boku wa …” by Sakakibara Yui

The OP was played at the end of the episode given the nature of how the episode started, but overall it didn’t do anything for me. I don’t hate it, but I don’t like it either, but at least the OP sequence gives us a small peek at the backstories of the various girls that are part of the group.

Indeed, it’s quite easy to find out how things have changed from the past to the time the serie happens, but I guess we’ll have some more flashback since the whole story hasn’t been revealed yet…
Will also try 2 or 3 more episodes before dropping (or not) this anime.

This anime… is simply not worth watching. The later episodes get extremely sad with the whoole “omg, i is knight, i r duty to proteckt the ppls of my nations!!” gets in the way a whole lot. Deriving from the classic romance anime to something that’s so obscure. The later episodes will have you falling asleep out of the boredom. And the last episode… I just can’t even say anything about the last episode. Pure disappointment.

My rating: 4.5/10
