Opening Sequence:

OP: “Aozora loop” by marble

It’s been a while since I last heard a marble song, the last one was “Mebae Drive” from Hidamari Sketch. A very nice OP which covers all the girls in the series.

Impressions

At the start, this episode seemed like any other school based harem series, but having seen the end, I can see it being more than that. Already with the first episode we can see some relationships that will be developing over the course of the series, and it’s not just Kouichi, even his best friend Kazuki seems to be part of it all, and normally we would consider him to be a sub character.

Animation is solid, just as you would expect from J.C Staff, and with Kasai Kenichi as the director (director for Honey & Clover and Nodame Cantabile) I can definitely see this as an enjoyable series. We can already see the water-coloured style colouring, and the character designs look good, but I wonder if we’ll see any of Kenichi’s style of having spinning things. Also with the series having an all-star cast, there’ll be some excellent voice acting.

With this only being the first episode, there’s still a lot of other characters to be introduced. Though this episode has established the major ones, it felt a little slow to start off with until the kiss at the end. But with that established, I think things will start to pick up very quickly and it’ll be great to see some of the characters backstories and how their personalities will change/develop.

So a definite watch for me but undecided if I want to blog this.

Ending Sequence:

ED: “Negai boshi” by Snow*

Right now I think I like the ED theme more than the OP theme. It has that nice soothing catchyness to it that you can only get from a high school romance series. The ED sequence mainly consists of snapshots throughout the episode which is nice, but kind of lacks that artistic sense we see from Kasai. Though with high school romances/dramas, it’s all about the memories, so I can see the snapshots being all about memories.
