Shakugan no Shana II - 01

Opening Sequence:

OP: “JOINT” by Kawada Mami

The OP I find gives a different feel compared to the first season’s OPs, but that’s not a bad thing. Even the OP sequence seems to have taken on a slightly different style but at least we’re also shown some of the new characters that’ll appear later on.

Impressions

So everyone’s favourite flame haired tsundere is back for a second season, and this time it’s even better. To me it feels that the animation has improved more so compared to the first season, although that may be because I’m watching it on a wide screen monitor. Still, it’s good to see all the characters once again and hopefully Shana II can bring more of the awesome action that was evident in the first season.

This episode was mainly a retell of parts of season one, which isn’t entirely a bad thing, so it means those who only just started watching Shana will get a slight idea of what’s going on. But we’re already introduced to one of the villians, and a cute one at that, and we can see that she already has plans for Yuuji. Yuuji forgetting Shana’s confession seems to have made there relationship back to what it was before, but I don’t see it staying like that for too long, and we still have Kazumi who is determined to win Yuuji’s heart. Though given the OP sequence, perhaps we’ll also see Ike make a move.

So far a pretty good start to the second season and I do hope it’ll be more awesome later on in the series. I don’t think I’ll blog Shana II since a million other bloggers will.

Ending Sequence:

ED: “triangle” by Kawada Mami

Similar ED sequence to that of the first season first ED sequence, which highlights some of improved animation drawing style. The ED I like better than the OP so far as it feels more befitting.

Preview:

Also I’m prepared to watch Shakugan no Shana since I have this with me, lol.

I wish I had a Shana plushie with me lol. It’s just not the same with my Shana, who is pvc ;p. The recap is good for those who haven’t watched the first season and intend to start watching from the second season, but honestly I was a bit annoyed having to watch everything again. The new enemy is pretty cute, nothing like gothic lolita and horns lol.

Although recaps can’t be helped, that was a great way to make one in this episode. Love the OP! I already like what Mami Kawada sings, but this music is great! :D
Lovely Shana plushy, but was the pantsu shot necessary? xD

As long as the ending does crap out like in season 1, I’m happy =).

I’m one of those other ones ;_; but that shouldn’t stop you from doing it!

lu-k: Panty shot? Of course! But then I didn’t take this picture, my photographer buddy did way back during Animania. But the recapping is good, cause I nearly forgotten what happened in the first season.

Hijiko: I found the ending to season 1 pretty good, but in this season I want to see more awesome action scenes.

Shirukii: Well I’ll have to see how I go, still far behind the new season and I’m flat out with work. But yes, everyone needs a Shana plusy, more specifically the tsuntsun one!

Lol you showed panties on your plushie on purpose. I KNOW YOU!

The new enemy is not the lady with the horns. She’s actually a weak crimison denesen. That form is just the human form of the Mistes that she possessed. Bal Masque is still kind of the enemy. However, the ending of season I, made me wish that Yuji would’ve developed a personality like Yoh Asakura after what’s he’s been through. [Hecate:] I’M EMPTY, I’M EMPPPTTYYYY!!” [Yuji:] *laughs* “You’re not empty, you just have infinite room to store precious memories, that’s all!” Hecate, having achieved what she desired, may have either joined them or left them alone, being satisfied. It would’ve saved a lot of room for a bunch of new enemies in season II - perhaps some who have less class and are more merciless, genocidal, sadistic. NOW THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!! lol
