After a rather expensive adventure only two weeks ago, I thought I would walk away from Supanova relatively unscathed since there wasn’t much to expect. Either way I attended with a fully stocked wallet of gold just in case. For the first 3 hours I bought literally nothing. Everything I looked at seemed to not interest me all that much, though some were tempting, but I resisted. Over the course of the day, and many trips to Tamarket just to talk to them, eventually, the time had come to do what I do best……SPEND!
Excuse the shoddy photos, but I’m not feeling upto doing anything proper. Moving on, the loot purchases isn’t as large as the Animania purchase, but to others, it’s still considered a significant amount. Personally the amount I spent in total I don’t think it was all that large, but hey, that’s just me.
When I first visited Tamarket to say my hellos, guess what they brought out? The Nayuki plushy!!! God damn they finally got it as I have been searching for this particular plushy for the past 2 and half years. So finally it’s mine and I can now die in peace, lol. Next is a pair of ARIA cat heads. Not sure what they are, I think they are pin cushions or something, but Tamarket were eager to sell me this since Animania. However we both eventually came to an agreement and it was added to the shopping bag.
The headband is similar to that of the Naruto headband, except with Tamarket’s logo on it. I promised these guys that I would buy one, plus for only $15, it’s peanuts to me. Now the other two small items, an Alice Carroll phone hanger, and a Nodame Cantabile mongoose phone hanger. These two items were purchased on Sunday, and believe it or not, I didn’t purchase ANYTHING the entire day of Sunday until the very end when it was time to leave. Had to keep tradition of where I can’t walk out of a convention without buying something.
Now for the larger items. Everything here except the Ureshiko figure was bought from Tamarket, where I bought her from Kings Comics. A bit too expensive for what I paid, but hey, she’s a figure that can’t be found these days. Megahouse’s Meer Campbell was bought simply because last year I bought this for a friend, who added to her Meer Shrine. In the end I wanted one as well because lol, Meer Boobies! Solid Theater’s Maid Girl was added. I wasn’t sure how much it was, just added it to bag. And of course more ARIA merchandise, Yujin’s Aria-shachou coin bank and an ARIA lunchbox.
In the end my Supanova expenditure never ceases to amaze me. For the past few years, I always believe that there won’t be anything I want. Of course all those that know me always say that it’s a lie, and all I can do is agree. All up my total expenditure for Supanova Sydney 2007 was $392 AUD.
However all the purchases I had from both Animania and Supanova has it’s downsides. Most people would think it’s the money, but no, the money isn’t the issue. It’s the figure photography backlog! Before the two conventions my backlog was only a small amount, but I had trouble deciding locations for the figures. But now……….
With the influx of October orders coming in soon, I’m going to be having a busy busy month in November in which I hope I can clear through all of this. On the brighter side of things, since I managed to give away all of my Moé Moé Rabu business cards and left with only 12 cards, it means that I’ll have to get more photos so I can produce more business cards. Well here’s hoping I can clear through this backlog!

Glad you got Nayuki plushie that you wanted. It’s hard to get wanted things from convention, most of my purchases from convention normally counted as unexpected purchase / impulse @_@

OMG! You have that figure I’ve been looking for!!! How much was it for the girl/lady in pink holding the umbrella? I found it on ebay once, but it was waaay over priced even for ebay. Glad you found the Nayuki plush you wanted; I’ll make sure you get a proper burial with it LOL!! j/k
Nice figure tower lol, if I keep buying figures then I probably will start one; the top of my shelves are stacked with boxes. Glad to see that you found your plushie ^^. 15 dollars is peanuts now huh lol, must mean that job of yours is pretty lucrative. I wanted to get the Meer figure but she was a bit overpriced when I saw her. Can’t wait to see your figure pics ^^.

AS: With the job now, it seems to me that figures are cheap to buy, not to mention the Aussie dollar is strong at the moment. To us in Australia, $1 AUD is roughly 100 yen.
Oh crap… I’m about to open up my wallet and pay the ultimate price for Ureshiko. I want it bad… now! Damn you Adun! lol
