Well continuing on with the photo spree, and taking time away from going through my loots, catching up on the new season, and playing with my new toy (which I’ll post about later), here are the last sets of photos for Supanova Sydney 2007 Sunday. Also there is a few little surprises at the end of this post so hit the jump to check out the rest. WARNING: Picture intensive post.

And that’s pretty much the entire day. The photos below are the winners of the cosplay competition, with the first photo being the judges. Sorry I forget who won what category, but then I never usually bother listening, lol. Either way congratulations to the winners.

And a good old picture of Sly and the judges.
Originally I said there was a reason for me to turn up the Sunday. I just remembered that it was a lie, and in fact there was a 2nd reason. A good friend of mine that I know from uni said that he was going to cosplay at Supanova this weekend. Big deal, I’ve seen him cosplay before, however there was a catch. Not only was he cosplay playing, but in fact crossplaying. Of course I couldn’t resist the idea of taking a photo as well as making him pose.

And just for the people of AnimeSydney! For those international, no that’s not me, lol.

After a long day it was finally time to pack up and call it a day. What I usually do during the convention is go around and say my goodbyes to the vendors, volunteers, and organisers that I know personally. However I realised that I had bought nothing the entire day, and I wasn’t going to walk away empty handed. So I headed off to my good friends over at Tamarket to see what was left over.

Of course I managed to find a few things to buy, and above is a picture to commemorate that I actually bought stuff the Sunday, lol.
Now for the big surprise. The main reason for me to return on the Sunday after the Motor Show was that I was asked a favour by Sly from Madman to take some photos for them. Pretty much the gist was that I take photos of the winner of the Best Cosplay for Sunday’s competition. Well I thought I was might as well since I don’t have anything to lose. But the best part about it is that the photos will be published in Anime Update, which is an anime magazine that is published in Australia. Below is a sample of the photos I took.

The above photo has oly minor post-processing, I’d have to do more to it later but that’s all you’ll see here. If you want to see the other photos, check out one of the future Anime Update issues (I’m not sure which one, lol), but I know I’ll be buying a copy. Oh and congratulations to the winner of Supanova Sydney 2007 Sunday Cosplay Competition, Freddy Krueger.
When I was doing this photo shoot, as well as my crossplaying friend, this is one type of photography that I would like to try out as it gives me more variety in terms of portrait photography. Plus with cosplayers, you can do almost anything. Of course I still need a better lens since I’m doing everything still with the crappy standard 18-55mm lens. Either way it was fun and I’m glad I took the job.
And finally! NO MORE CONVENTIONS FOR THE YEAR!!!!
Photographer partner Bubby has uploaded his massive collection of photos. Check them out here.
