When looking into this during the season previews, I had no idea what it was about, and from a general look, I knew it wouldn’t interest me much. Once again that has come true. Though it also probably didn’t help that I was watching this at 1 a.m when I was falling asleep, but hey, at least it got me where I wanted. This episode starts off with some scantily clad women doing some impressive ninja moves and then suddenly becomes a school day in a somewhat post-apocalyptic Tokyo. It does seem a little confusing, but with this series, it all revolves around mysteries.

Impressions
Hyuga Mayuki is the star of the show, a young blonde boy who is a detective that holds special insight powers. Some reason this sounds like that show on TV, Medium. However this there wasn’t much to do this story, frankly this episode bored me so much that I wanted it to end so I could go to sleep. The animation is looking nice, but at times I like and hate the character designs. Speaking of characters, I find it really odd of Horie Yui is voicing Byakko, as it doesn’t seem to be a fitting role for Hocchan.
With Studio Deen taking the helm, who knows what’ll happen in this series. But I for one won’t find out as I don’t plan to continue watching this. Really, with the first case being what the scream was and what the kids stepped on, it somewhat ruins the whole detective solving awesome scenarios kind of thing. Even with Hocchan as a part of the cast, it’s not enough to keep me interested, let alone awake.

Yeah I agree on the fact that it is odd to hear Horie Yui voicing Byakko. Not really the kind of character she used us to.
But I’ll give Suteki Tantei Labyrinth another chance, since I can stand the chara design. Maybe one or two more episodes, to convince myself to continue this anime or not.
