Yes it’s the one thing that most people are always looking forward to seeing, cosplay photos! The level of cosplays this year has gone up a notch and there were indeed quite a number of good cosplays. Armed with the 580 EXII, I wanted to see how well I could take photos with a proper flash, so hit the jump to see the photos that I managed to take for Saturday. WARNING: Picture intensive post.
Well this is the end of Part 1. Excuse some of the photos for being a bit too dark. As some others have pointed out about the 580 EXII, it’s not good for continuous shooting. I found this out during the cosplay competition as I noticed the flash was starting to weaken, even after changing to a new set of batteries. Really I’m still a novice when it comes to using the flash and I have much to learn.

The Haruhi girls and the Wing Gundam looked pretty awesome. Sorry to hear about the flash dieing out on you, well better now than at a possible job opportunity ^^.
Those Gundam cosplayers had a really cool idea for their cosplay. The suits are easily removed and underneath they’re cosplayed as the pilots. One of the best group cosplays of the weekend. If I remember rightly they won a place in their division (can’t remember which… results are up on the Animania forums)
