As the Devil Z and Testarossa continue to battle it out, the red GTR overtakes them, but eventually crashes with the other two speeding on ahead. However Ishida’s car begins to overheat and he is forced to pull over. He finds out that one of his drive belts has broken, but is remedied when he spots a nearby car with a couple, and asks for the girls panties. Meanwhile Akio and Rumi head up to Hakone.

With the panties used as a belt, Ishida and Rena head back to Wangan and is eventually met by the Devil Z again. But this time the Devil Z is too fast for the Testarossa. Later on, Rena gets a call from her tuner, Kazuhiko, that he found the tuner of the Devil Z. Once they arrive, Rena is surprised to see that they are at a bicycle shop. Although walking inside, no one is there, until Rena turns around and sees a man with a scar on his left eye. This man is Kitami Jun. After a failed attempt to talk to Jun, Kazuhiko explains about Jun of how he was a GT driver in his younger days, and also happened to get in an accident.

Meanwhile Akio is driving around his Z and realises that the Z needs an overhaul, however Kou can’t help him with that. Later on, Ishida and Rena meet Jun once again and persuade him in joining them to head down to Wangan. Driving down the Wangan, Akio soon arrives in his Z and overtakes Rena. The two are racing it out as Jun thinks to himself that it is the Devil Z that he tuned. Akio then speeds on ahead of them, but Rena can’t keep up. Jun however speaks up and says that the Devil Z is no good if it keeps running like that.

Impressions

At this point, all the material is new to me as the scanlation of the manga stopped after Ishida fixes his Testarossa with the panties. But I must say, that is a pretty ingenious idea of using panties as a temporary fix for a belt. Goes to show what knowledge comes with age. Well this episode brings out a bit more on the Devil Z and why it’s called that. With the introduction of Jun, it makes things more interesting rather than seeing Akio, Rena, and Tatsuya racing all the time. But what makes me wonder is why Jun is running a bicycle shop now. I suppose it has something to do with his accident that gave him the scar so I hope they’ll develop a bit more on that.

With the introduction of Jun, I wonder what his purpose will be in the show. With the Devil Z needing an overhaul, I wonder if he’ll rebuild it for Akio. However I don’t think that’ll happen since Jun has somewhat befriended Rena and Ishida. Still, I wish someone would sub this as I do miss parts that I don’t understand form watching it raw.
