Impressions
One of the new shows coming up for the Autumn season if ef - a tale of memories, and it is one of the shows that I highly anticipate. ef is based off the game ef - a fairy tale of the two which is produced by minori, who have produced other games such as Wind ~A Breath of Heart~ and Bittersweet Fools. The first thing that draws me to ef is the character designs, which is done by none other than Nanao Naru (Da Capo, Canvas2, sola) and ef is one that shows some of her darker themed works (what i mean is the use of dark colours).
Personally I have never actually played the ef game, and I don’t intend to since I don’t have the time, but I do know that ef - a fairy tale of the two is only the first half of the game. There is still a second part to be released. So it makes me wonder how this anime series will turn out as the game itself is also quite long. What I do hope is that this goes for 26 episodes as having 26 episodes with animation quality as high as this would be pure awesome.
The music is going to be produced by Tenmon, who is also the music producer of all of Shinkai Makoto’s works, so we can expect an awesome soundtrack for this. Though I don’t think Shinkai Makoto is taking a part in the anime series, I hope he’ll at least direct the opening sequence like he did for the ef game. So with animation done by Shaft, character designs by Nanao Naru, and music by Tenmon, I can’t wait till ef - a tale of memories starts airing.
Character designs look almost exactly like sola to me. Still looks pretty good though.

In a general sense, after so many character designs there are bound to be a few similar designs if not duplicate ones.

AOforever1: That may be true in a sense, but you can tell that each character has their own personalities.
that prologue anime are scenario picked up from near end of first half of the game(miyako’s story).Though it looks promising it may also ture into something like fate/stay night(coool demo suck anime)
Love Nanao Naru style. I discovered her character design with Da Capo first anime, and that’s mostly because of that I watched Sola -well, it was also because of Mamiko Noto hehe-
Like those two serie, I will definitely watch ef - a tale of memories.
Though never seen Canvas2 (but looking for subbed episodes)
Can’t wait for D.C. II too ^^;
