Kita Michiru is a weak-willed girl who wears special glasses to prevent her from seeing black rings on dying people’s necks. One day she discovers that two boys from her class, Akatsuki Chika and Tachibana Shito, both have black rings around their neck. The two decide to persuade Michiru to join the company they work for, Zombie Loan, in order to kill zombies in order to pay back their debt that grants them living bodies.

Impressions
So after a dreadful episode of CODE-E, I made up with by watching Zombie-Loan. Hailing from the manga with the same name by the pair Peach-Pit, this is definitely more interesting. Originally this wasn’t in my list of season previews, but I took interest in this simple because it’s a Peach-Pit creation, and I love Peach-Pit’s artwork. Zombie-Loan is definitely a different genre to Peach-Pit’s other works such as Rozen Maiden and DearS, as this has a more darker overcast.
The character designs along with the animation blending in with the green and purple give it a nice zombie atompshere, and of course we still get alight comic relief with the stick figures. Animated by Xebec M2, who just recently finished Hitohira, we can definitely expect quality work throughout the series. I’m not too sure what the difference between Xebec and Xebec M2, but who cares. The music as well goes well with the tone of the show, with the Opening Theme feeling a little rockish, but then gradually feels grungy.
Michiru, being a weak-willed girl and somewhat shy, seems almost like Mugi in Hitohira, except Mugi is uber shy. A very cute character since we have purple hair, megane, twin tails, and zettai ryouiki. Voiced by Kuwashima Houko (Clare from Claymore), she also joins a impressive selection of seiyuu like Suzumura Kenichi as Chika, and Sakurai Takahiro as Shito, with Saito Chiwa as Yuuta.
Not exactly an exciting episode, but definitely a very pretty one at that. With a little show of Chika and Shito killing a zombie, I can see that we’ll be seeing some more zombie killing action later on. The story has an interesting premise, and it is rather original and now that we see Michiru seeing a black ring around her own neck, it seems it’ll get more interesting. Although given the first scene at the start as well as the preview, it seems that Michiru herself may turn into a zombie just like Shito and Chika. Well this feels like a definite watch, but I’ll give it a few more episodes before I decide anything proper. Though give that I have School Days and Doujin Work, probably won’t blog this as Tuesday looks pretty full.

Looks interesting…didn’t know it was Xebec M2, but Hitohira hasn’t been bad so far–sounds like a very different story but I’ll have to check this out once it’s subbed…
