A bit late with this. After the photography shoot on Saturday, I completely forgot about this but luckily I left it sitting around and managed to get the cover flat. Of course there is still the slight crease but less than normally. This volume covers Shiori, though not exactly my favourite character in Kanon, but this cover of her is still nice. As the class is having P.E in the gymnasium, a submarine surfaces from the floor. Standing on top is a boy, Mikawa Kai, and he claims to have come for San. He happens to spot Nagasumi and decides to attack him with his sword, but he is stopped by a volleyball deflected by San. Although Mawari at this point wants to arrest him for breaking the law on arms, she realises that Kai is the son of the richest family in Japan, but she tries to arrest him anyway. Kai then says that he came here for his bride, San, which surprises everyone.

Maria suggests that they all visit Nagi’s grandfather, Sanzenin Mikado, so they can introduce Hayate to him. On the helicopter ride there, Hayate learns that he is Nagi’s only blood relative left and that he is powerful enough to erase his existence. Upon landing, Nagi, Maria and Sakuya are greeted by the butlers and maids, but Hayate is tied up, thinking he is an intruder. As Nagi is changing clothes, Hayate is walking around the grounds and sees a fancy vase, thinking that it could clear his 150 million yen debt. But a voice tells him that vase is only worth 5 million. Surprised he turns around to find an old man standing there and thinks he is the gardener. The old man takes Hayate to a lookout simply so he can peek at Nagi and Maria changing, but Hayate drags him away.

Yorito and Mana return to the abandoned house where he stabbed Matsuri, but he can’t understand why. Before he leaves, Mana stops him as she has something important to tell him. Meanwhile Takeshi is in a convenience store buying a list of items and happens to run into Sae, who is working there. Over at the docks, Matsuri is telling Mayuko about Aono, but Mayuko asks about Yorito. Matsuri says she shouldn’t worry about it. Mayuko wants to know why Matsuri always dodges questions like that. Matsuri feels that if she doesn’t do so, it would be too painful for her.
As some of you may remember I mentioned that I got offered to become an assistant photographer for a professional. Well last Saturday happened to be my first job as an assistant and boy was it definitely something. Although this is the first, I have been called up before but the previous times the photo session got canceled, but this time it was all go ahead.

As Nodame continues to practice for the competition, Etou is frustrated that she isn’t playing as according to the sheet, but it turns out that she is worried about people cheating. Though to her relief she finds out that they can’t. Chiaki gets a mail from Nodame saying that Schubert’s not easy to get along with. At that time, he is getting ready for rehearsal with the Rising Star Orchestra and is surprised to find Kai Dunn as the concertmaster. During their practice, his skills and directing of the fellow members impresses Chiaki. Later on with a private conversation, Kai is surprised that Chiaki got instructed by Stresemann. Although Chiaki respects Stresemann’s music, he isn’t going to Europe because of him, but he will go next year.
