Comp Selections Vol 03 & Dengeki Daioh July 2007

Let me just say that when it comes to anything Da Capo (well Circus or Key based) or Nanao Naru related, I am a weak man. A VERY WEAK MAN! On Sunday I happened to get the chance to head into the city for a family dinner but I decided to head to Kinokuniya beforehand. Browsing through the regular sections I happen to come across this:

Summer 2007 Season Preview

With the Spring season coming to an end in about two weeks time, it’s time again to look at what series will be coming out this Summer (well technically Winter for me). So shows I’m definitely looking forward to watching, but some do perk some interest. Anyway a more comprehensive list can be found on Moon Phase. But for those who can’t read the moon language, check out moetron’s post on the Summer season. Of course this list doesn’t cover all of them, only the ones I’m interested in., either way, onwards!

Tetsuko no Tabi

  • Air Date: 24th June.
  • The story is about a manga-ka traveling across different stations. Not entuirely sure what to think on this as it seems kind of Densha Otoko-ish, but with less otaku elements. Well I’ll watch a few episodes to see how it turns out.
  • Chances of blogging: Low
Nanatsuiro Drops

  • Air Date: 2nd July.
  • Based on the h-game with the same name, I will most likely end up watching this. Also the original character designs are by Noizo Ito, same character designer for Suzumiya Haruhi and Shakugan no Shana.
  • Chances of blogging: Good

The next day Kou tells Akio that he won’t fix the Z since and thinks that he should look for a different Z. That night, the driver of the Blackbird is with a girl named Eriko and he takes her to the place where her brother, the previous owner of the Z, died. Later on the two pull into a gas station and Akio happens to be working there. Akio recognises it as the Blackbird and proceeds to serve him. The driver of the Blackbird introduces himself as Shima Tatsuya, but Tatsuya and Eriko are surprised when they hear Akio’s name. Thank you Moé Moé Rabu, I now have a job!

It has definitely been a long time since I graduated from uni. My ceremony was WAY back in September but I have actually been looking for work since August. So after a long 10 months of searching for full time work, I can finally say that the search is over! That’s right, and it’s all thanks to Moé Moé Rabu, well in a indirect way. First just a bit of background. Originally I was looking for a Software Developer role, since I graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science majoring in Systems Programming, but alas once I began my search for full time work, I found it extremely difficult to get even a junior position.

As I continued the search, I used Moé Moé Rabu as a means to kill time until I could find work but also to learn a bit more on web development. Though eventually I found myself a bit more interested in web development as I continued to work on the blog and even started looking at web development jobs as the filed appeared to be much easier to find work in. Losing faith in finding work, friends kept helping me out in the search but the months kept stacking up. However I finally saw a job advertised relatively close to where I went to uni and applied. Went for an interview on Thursday afternoon and was told the details etc. They told me I’m standing on top at the moment and that they’ll call me on Friday if I get it. The call didn’t come so I rang them up today, as I had another job offer, but was happy to hear they are going to accept me.

The job itself is a junior web developer role in a small company, but they are growing so fast they’re already looking for a new office space. So I’m definitely over the moon about this as my long search is over and I have to thank my blog for the majority of this. Without this blog I wouldn’t have had an interest in web development, but I would also have to say people like Danny Choo, and Shingo are inspirations for me in entering the blogsphere and learning more about web development. Anyway so far this role involves me doing a training module for the first month and starting on small projects. I’ll be learning Adobe Cold Fusion and refining my HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills. Good thing about this role is that since it’s located roughly the same area as the uni I attended, it’s only a 20 minute drive to work.

So now with me entering full time work, what does this mean for Moé Moé Rabu? Quite a few things actually. Simply I’ll most likely have to cut down on the amount of blogging I do especially with anime episodes. Figure reviews I’m not sure at this point as I’ll have less time to go out and take photos, but given it’s Winter here in Australia, the weather hasn’t exactly been great either. Although with the current shows I’m blogging I’ll still continue until they are done, but with new shows, either stop completely or just do smaller posts (actually I’ve been meaning to do this for ages).

Anyway, I’ll be starting straight away, or Tuesday next week, and I’m totally excited as I can finally get a start on my career. But more importantly, I CAN FINALLY LEAVE WOOLWORTHS!!! Thank you Moé Moé Rabu, I now have a job!

New DVD Burner

It has probably been a good 2 years since I bought any computer hardware and today I just bought something. Yep, it’s a new DVD burner! What I have here is a Pioneer DVR-212D. This version however uses a SATA port instead of the regular IDE and I must say, it’s about time they brought something like this out. Plus at only $50 AUD, it was cheap. Though I wish I had a black one to match the case, but unfortunately the place I went was sold out of black.

The old DVD burner is a Sony DRU700A and it was one of the first dual layer DVD burners out in Australia. Funnily enough I have never ever burnt a dual layer disc with it. Well now that one will probably goto one of my siblings as I don’t have the need for two burners. But now I can finally burn DVDs at 18x rather than 8x!
