Let me just say that when it comes to anything Da Capo (well Circus or Key based) or Nanao Naru related, I am a weak man. A VERY WEAK MAN! On Sunday I happened to get the chance to head into the city for a family dinner but I decided to head to Kinokuniya beforehand. Browsing through the regular sections I happen to come across this:

This is Comp Selections Volume 03 which covers Da Capo 2 Spring Celebrations. It includes a magazine that covers character profiles, event CGs, production sketches, and some other information about some of the upcoming games being released by Circus. It also comes with some extras:

The first item is a mousepad of the Asakura sisters in their senior uniforms. So awesome that I’ll never use it! Don’t want to ruin my precious items, lol. Oh and I happened to have bought some manga. Yet to read them as well, but I will eventually. The second item was the one that REALLY surprised me. When I first looked at the box, I didn’t bother reading what it was and I assumed it was a dakimakura (hug pillow) cover. However that wasn’t the case.

“GOD DAMN THAT’S BIG!” is what I first thought. This is actually a tapestry of Asakura Yume in her P.E gear. Trust me, this thing is bloody huge as you can see it covers the entirety of the Akari towel I have hanging normally on the door. It measures in at 1680mm x 700mm. As much as I like Yume, I did kind of wish that it was Otome instead. Nether the less it’s still awesome, however I really have nowhere to hang this in my room except the ceiling. So in the meantime, I shall store it away unless I can find someplace to hang i, or make to stick to the ceiling.
But of course my spending didn’t stop there. With sola being one of my favourite animes this season, I could resist buying this:

Dengeki Daioh July issue! Although I really only bought this because I wanted the sola Special Book as I don’t normally buy Dengeki Daioh. Though at least it included chapter 5 of the sola manga, and OMG Matsuri *drool*. I’d scan a few pages to show you what I mean but I’m too lazy to do so. But as you can see, I’m a very weak man.

I see someone finally bought that comp selections. The last copy had been sitting in kinonkuniya for a month or so already, and I wasn’t a big enough fan of DC to buy it just to flaunt it in the irc chan.
Wish there’s a kinonkuniya shop in Perth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
icie: Yeah well I haven’t been to Kinokuniya for roughly a month, but like I said, I’m a weak man when it comes to D.C.
Fisherman Horizon: It’s one thing I like about living in Sydney, lol.
Oh, you were using the manga as a comparison XD I thought it came with the magazine and drooled for a while..
As always, I envy the fact you live in Sydney
Lol, Dengeki Daioh always gives out some of the best stuff. Great swag you got there, especially because you like it ^-^. I wonder if you are going to steam the Asakura tapestry to get rid of the creases, looks much better stiff and crease-free lol.
LOL weak ~
Now I feel like getting a copy of Dengeki Daioh too ^_^
hmm…what’s inside sola special book ?
Lenners: If only magazines did come with whole volumes of manga, if only.
AOforever1: I’m sure there’s a place that’ll sell Japanese magazines near where you live.
AS: maybe, but not that this point since I have no where to put it. Although the idea of using a steam iron kind of puts me off since I don’t want to damage it in anyway.
alafista: You should and become weak like me!
oOgA: the sola Specila Book contains images used in various magazines, character profiles, and the prologue chapter for the manga. It’s really nice.
Adun:
There actually are a few places in my area that sell Japanese magazines, but there are some exclusives that I never see (not limited to magazines). For example, you have that very enticing Fenna~hime pillow cover ;_; boku hoshi desu ;_;
!!!
Having very similar anime tastes, i always wonder WHERE you get your merchandise from! Especially since most of the previous stuff you have wouldn’t be sold at shops nowadays (either cuz they’re too old, or shops in Singapore, where i live, just suck).
However, there IS a kinokuniya here. A very large one that i frequent to pick up shonen ace monthlys, which always come with cool freebies. Time to make the trip down to pick up the DCII and the SOLA special book! (what’s in iT!)
Do email me if u know an awesome japanese site that exports anime-related products!
*a reader of your blog since the KANON days, who always frowns when you have cool new fan-boy merchandise that i will never have, haaha!
Oh my~
That’s a large print of Asakura Yume @_@
I’ve been wondering if I should cross the line and get something like that…
I can understand the spending spree… oh why are we so weak to certain things, Megami Magazine Creatures is around the corner and it has Eeji Komatsu being featured >.
Son of a, sorry, not sure how to modify comments, I meant Megami Magazine Creators vol.08 ^^;
Katsu: Read my previous comment to see what’s in the sola Special Book. Also most of the manga and magazine items I buy are usually from Kinokuniya as it’s too much of a hassle to order online. In the end I think it boils down to luck as to whether there is something there that you would buy.
Aya Kyunik: You should. Level up your Otakuism!
The D.C.II Spring Celebrations costs nearly fifty SGD!!! Hence my hesitation. How much did it cost you?
I did buy Degenki + Sola Special, nifty!
So far i like to shop for comp freebies, i managed to get a suzumiya haruhi handphone accessory from Shounen Ace
It cost me $50 AUD (about $65 SGD), but stuff in Kinokuniya Sydney are more expensive than in Singapore due to the distance for shipping from Japan. So consider yourself lucky that it’s only $50 SGD.
Very cute tapestry of Asakura Yume! Not too big that D.C fan yet
