At school, Mana remembers how Yorito wanted to confront his sister and she finds him on the rooftop taking pictures of the sky. Mana thanks Yorito for making Koyori happy by returning home and as she was about to say something else, Yorito interrupts her saying not to ask about anything. Although Mana says that she is flexible with things now but Yorito still doesn’t want to say anything. So Mana says that she won’t worry anymore, but runs off crying that he should consider the feelings of others. Meanwhile at home, Aono is paid a visit by Koyori, but Aono tells her to never come back since she and Yorito are moving far away. It depresses Koyori as she walks home, but she passes by a bookstore and gets an idea. She returns back later asking Aono to teach her more origami just for today.
Elsewhere, Mana is with her friends and Sae, but she pays no attention to them and stares out the window. The girls notice that she has been acting weird and decide to tease her about it, but Mana says not to talk about Yorito. However the girls don’t seem to know what she is talking about, so Mana walks out thinking they are still teasing her. A little while later, her friend Touko finds her alone on a bridge. Mana apologises about before and asks Touko what she thinks of Yorito. Though Touko doesn’t really know who he is, so Mana attempts to show her the photo in her phone but then find that Yorito and Aono have disappeared. Mana remembers what Yorito said about today being special and she’ll know by evening makes her run off to find Yorito, and she manages to find him on the rooftop still.
As the two lay down watching the sky, Yorito comments how you can never see the same sky twice. After Mana confirms that he is Yorito, she extends her hand and asks her to grab it. She wants to assure herself that he is there and not a ghost. Yorito asks what is wrong, so Mana explains how her friends have forgotten about Yorito and tries to get him to tell her it’s not possible, but Yorito keeps silent. Mana holds Yorito’s hands telling him that she refuses to lose her memories of the time spent with him. Yorito then lets go of her hand as Mana closes her eyes. Back home, Aono is watching Koyori make origami and thanks her but also apologises. Koyori doesn’t want to part with Aono since they are friends and cries into her arms, and then falling asleep later. Looking up in the night sky, Matsuri explains that illusions are like dreamlike, that they are certainly there, but when you wake up, they will disappear from your memory. When Mana opens her eyes, she finds herself crying and doesn’t know why.
Elsewhere Mayuko and Takeshi are ready to leave. Mayuko feels that Matsuri shouldn’t regret what she is doing. As the two leave, Matsuri turns around to find Yorito standing there. Back home Aono is packing up the stuffed dolls, but she hears a noise from the front door. Going to investigate, she sees no one, but once she looks down the hall, she sees Matsuri standing there with Takeshi’s sword.
Impressions
Well I never thought that Mana’s role would end here. I was speculating that she would still playing a supporting role but in the end this works out nice and at least with this part we can see some kind of finale with Matsuri, Aono and Yorito. Though I did find this episode a little sad and the rooftop scene did well showing that everything is coming to an end soon. Adding Matsuri’s explanation of illusions being dreamlike could also signify that she plans to do the same thing in order to end everything with herself and Aono.
Although with Mana losing her memories of Yorito, I think it’s also sad in Koyori’s case as well since it appears that Aono is her only friend. Seeing Koyori try to make the best out of what time was left was pretty touching since she is the only character out of the loop, but also that’s what makes it more sad as she doesn’t understand why Aono and Yorito are leaving town. But of course even Mana doesn’t know the truth about Yorito, though I feel that it would be best that she doesn’t know as I don’t think she would have the same thoughts as Matsuri like in last week’s episode.
So now with Mayuko and Takeshi gone as well, the stage is set for the finale between Matsuri and Aono. Now with Matsuri armed with Takeshi’s sword, I wonder how this is going to end. Although I can see that a possible ending would be for them to all disappear, but I still hope for a slight happy ending. Only two episodes left!
