I think how well AIR DVD sales go could determine the outcome for Kanon if it were to be licensed. Also I don't see how ADV "had" to license both the TV series and movie. It woudn't be much of a surprise if the sells of their AIR DVDs were very good. But the DVDs aren't released yet and might as well be a huge R1 flop ... well... hopefully they don't get disappointed.
