Today is Nagasumi’s first day back at school as well as San’s first day at her new school. Having nearly being killed by Maki, Nagasumi finds San in her school uniform. She also has a postcard from her father telling her he’ll always be with her, give Nagasumi feels uneasy about. On the way to school, they meet one of Nagasumi’s friends, Sarutobi Hideyoshi, and actually looks close to a monkey. In class, everyone is talking about a new teacher and to Nagasumi’s surprise, it ends up being San’s father.

The date is now 10th March 2037 and the girls are going to graduate. A lot of time has passed since the school festival and Mikan notes that not a lot has changed since then. Thanks to Kyouko, their uniform and everything else remained very much the same except the school administration being combined. Each of the girls have their plans for after graduation - Momo is joining a digital journalist specialist school, Mucchi is joining a professional team, Mei is going to college, and Manabi is going to be a freeter. Though the biggest surprise is when Mikan says she is going to America.

The petition has passed and the school festival has been given the go ahead. With the help of Takako, the preparation of the school festival was finished on the 19th October, the day before the festival. As the girls are walking out, Mikan tells them that she doesn’t want to leave, and the others feel the same. So they end up spending the night running through the empty hallways and classrooms until they are lying on the grass rooftop. Mikan admits she wanted to know how Manabi sees the world but now she sees it - A school called Seiou Academy in a big universe, and on this school’s roof a small student council room is located where 5 girls had gone through happiness, anger, and tears in their everyday lives. Though this room is gone now and they will have to graduate, Manabi says that she will never forget this night and Mikan says that she loves everyone.

With only 34 hours till the deadline, the girls have only managed to get 32% of the required petitions. Mei and Mikan are outside and are seeing the clock tower being worked on until they hear Manabi’s voice, who is impersonating the clock fairy and says it wants to see the school festival. Mei doesn’t buy it but Mikan is crying over the clock fairy. However the clock tower ended up exploding and destroying the student council room with it.

Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann is one of the many good series that I am following this season. Though after having watched episode 8, it was just EPIC. The death of Kamina was surely expected, but the way he died was very befitting for a man of Kamina’s stature. Having taken a fatal blow by the enemy, he rises once more to combine once again as Gurren-Lagann to defeat his enemy and unleashes his ultimate final attack. With the enemy defeating, he sits quietly in the cockpit of Gurren-Lagann and whispers a goodbye to his friends.
Upon seeing this I cried MANLY TEARS and for me, I have not done something like that since Hokuto no Ken (which of course wasn’t really that long ago). Kamina was indeed a great man and that he taught that you don’t just believe in others, but more importantly you had to believe in yourself. Believing in yourself was the last advice he gave to Simon and it is that advice which I think will push Simon forward from this point and that it will make him a great man like Kamina.
But now that Kamina has died, I do wonder how the rest of the story will go without him. These past few episodes I felt that he was the bond that held the group together, but also with the Kamina x Yoko relationship that just started, I can see that we’ll be seeing a depressing side of her as well as Simon. But as Simon said - “On that day, we lost someone irreplaceable.†and I think it will be a while till the two of them will move forward from all of this.
You may be gone from the group, but you shall live on within our hearts! Kamina! One of the greatest men of anime! (also a good contender to win next year’s SaiGAR competition.

With Sakuya heading to school after breakfast, Hayate thinks Nagi should go to, but Nagi says that she still has Isumi over. But Nagi just wants to spend time with Hayate. Outside whilst sweeping, Maria asks Hayate if he likes younger or older women. Hayate interprets this as a chance to become closer to Maria and answers older women, but they are shortly interrupted when Nagi summons Hayate to her room. Little did he know, Nagi gets Hayate to wear a girl’s school uniform and finds that it suits him well. But Hayate is worried about getting fired as he was told by Klaus that butlers should be manly and he doesn’t want to be seen by him or Maria. Unfortunately Maria is already in the room and even suggests Hayate wear a frilly dress.

Yorito finds himself standing by the vending machine where he first met Matsuri as he watches the sunrise. Back home, Aono is waiting for Yorito but calls him a lair since he left a note saying he’ll be back soon. Later on in the day, Yorito and Mana search the church in hopes to find clues on Matsuri and Mana suggests that she has already left the town. Even at school, Yorito is thinking about Matsuri and the night she left, so he ends up walking around town thinking about her. Koyori meanwhile brings back groceries for Aono and thinks it would be great if Matsuri came back and explains that she likes it here. She likes it here because of the sky and this makes Aono think that the sky photographs are the reason and it reminds Aono of the past with Yorito and how he wanted to show the sky to Matsuri.
