Yorito finds himself standing by the vending machine where he first met Matsuri as he watches the sunrise. Back home, Aono is waiting for Yorito but calls him a lair since he left a note saying he’ll be back soon. Later on in the day, Yorito and Mana search the church in hopes to find clues on Matsuri and Mana suggests that she has already left the town. Even at school, Yorito is thinking about Matsuri and the night she left, so he ends up walking around town thinking about her. Koyori meanwhile brings back groceries for Aono and thinks it would be great if Matsuri came back and explains that she likes it here. She likes it here because of the sky and this makes Aono think that the sky photographs are the reason and it reminds Aono of the past with Yorito and how he wanted to show the sky to Matsuri.

When Yorito returns, he sees Aono and Koyori rearranging the living room but he notices the sky photographs are gone. Though Yorito starts to get angry since Aono won’t give him a straight answer of where the photos are and turns to headout, but is stopped by Koyori saying that Aono is doing this for his sake. But he lets out his frustration which leaves Koyori in tears. Later on he begins to wonder what’s become of him until Aono turns up with his photographs and apologises about what she did. So the two end up walking around the city and they eventually arrive at the church, but they find it in ruins.
Sometime later, Aono has made plans to go out with Yorito and ends up spending a lot of time choosing what to wear and arranging her hair before meeting Yorito outside his school. The first place they head to is the shop where Yorito bought all the dolls from before, though Aono jokingly asks Yorito to buy the sleeping store owner. Eventually they make their way up the mountain to view the city. Aono says that she can see everything that she can’t at night. Yorito to try and remember the last timeAono came out like this but a strong wind blows, blowing away Aono’s umbrella. But this simply reminds him of Matsuri’s umbrella. Aono just stands in the rain and Yorito covers her with his umbrella, but is still reminded of Matsuri.
Heading back down, Yorito is worried Aono would catch a cold, but she tells them they should goto the restaurant that Mana works at. He eventually agrees and goes into a convenience store to buy her a towel. But a can of the tomato drink comes rolling by his feet and he recognises it. Looking up he sees Matsuri who then runs off. Though Yorito is stopped by Aono telling him not to go, but he apologises to Aono and chases after Matsuri. He eventually catches up to her, but Matsuri starts using her power to jump across rooftops and Yorito loses sight of her. Though thanks to some birds flying away, he goes to check it out. Meanwhile Aono is stumbling through the park in the rain questioning why this is happening. She remembers her conversation with Matsuri in the train car of how she promises never to appear in front of them again.
In an abandoned building, Matsuri is covering a sleeping Mayuko and soon realises that Yorito had entered. She tells him not to come in and to go home, but Yorito says he can’t since he hasn’t fulfilled his promise of showing her the sky and that she should come home with him. This causes Matsuri to begin crying but she says she can’t be with him because he is… But Yorito ends up hugging her before she could finish her sentence and tells her to come home once again. Aono meanwhile has her eyes turn lifeless while saying out Yorito’s name. Matsuri backs away from Yorito as she realises she had been stabbed by Yorito with a glass shard and sees that his eyes are exactly like Aono’s.
Impressions
Some reason I had a feeling that Aono would try to hurt Matsuri in some way since Aono has demonstrated her strong attachment to Yorito. But I never expected that Yorito would be the one to stab Matsuri. Although he may be under the influence of Aono, it does have a large impact. This could also demonstrate what Aono’s powers are to an extent but I still think there is more to it than just mind control. Perhaps she used her powers to convince Yorito that she is his sister and that is what caused her to collapse before? Then if that is the case I have a feeling that Aono does harbor strong feelings for Yorito as more than just siblings (that is if they were siblings in the past) and that she knows Yorito has feelings for Matsuri.
The whole Yorito using the showing of the sky promise I feel is just an excuse as I think he does have feelings for Matsuri. It’s just that he is too dumb headed to realise himself. Plus him taking his frustrations out on Koyori was a thumbs down for me as she is still just a little girl, despite her mature manner. Although the part of him not remembering the past with Aono is a little intriguing as it does indicate Aono using her powers on him. In what way that is still a mystery.
With the disappearance of Matsuri for at least a month, it appears something big has happened for her to be with Mayuko. But also what she was going to say about Yorito is another mystery and that it could mean anything. There are just bigger questions that I want answers to and I’m eagerly awaiting the next episode already. Also seeing Aono changing hairstyles was pretty funny as it seems out of her character to do such a thing. Not to mention I never realised her hair was that long in the first place.
Also I did a full shot of Aono in the clothes she chose. Click on the image for a larger version.

Thanks for the full-length Aono shot! Lovely. She’s my fav char since the beginning of the series and will be til the end XD
My take is that Yorito is actually a creation of Aono much like how she can animate origami though infused with the personality of the original Yorito. Apparently that affinity for Matsuri still remained. There was no need of supernatural powers to convince anyone of their siblinghood. Mana and Koyori met them only at the hospital and Yorito was presumably re-created just before.
Like yourself, I can’t wait for ep 8.
Interesting theory. Though as a creation of Aono, I’m surprised he has the fascination of the sky still and the same determination to show Matsuri the sky.
