With Sakuya heading to school after breakfast, Hayate thinks Nagi should go to, but Nagi says that she still has Isumi over. But Nagi just wants to spend time with Hayate. Outside whilst sweeping, Maria asks Hayate if he likes younger or older women. Hayate interprets this as a chance to become closer to Maria and answers older women, but they are shortly interrupted when Nagi summons Hayate to her room. Little did he know, Nagi gets Hayate to wear a girl’s school uniform and finds that it suits him well. But Hayate is worried about getting fired as he was told by Klaus that butlers should be manly and he doesn’t want to be seen by him or Maria. Unfortunately Maria is already in the room and even suggests Hayate wear a frilly dress.

What they end up doing is dressing him up in a cat costume and the two girls find it really suits him well. Nagi asks Tama what he thinks, but once he took a glance, he had lust in his eyes and jumps on Hayate eventually falling through the window onto the ground. Tama has Hayate pinned down, but Hayate manages to wrestle him off with a leg bind to his neck. Although thinking the coast is clear, Klaus happens to walk by. Hayate tries to sneak away but steps on a game controller and Klaus gives chase, whilst throwing explosive roses. Although Hayate tried to cover his face with a ribbon, he gets pinned down by Klaus, but once Klaus sees his face, he ends up being attracted and tries to jump him. Luckily Hayate is saved by Maria when she punches out Klaus and returns his butler clothes. Hayate is greatful to Maria and this gets Nagi angry. Little do they know Izumi, Mika, and Risa are behind a tree watching and see that Hayate is Nagi’s new butler.

As Hayate sits int he infirmary, he soon realises that Isumi is there also. She got lost in the house and ends up staying overnight again. Later that night, Hayate finds maria playing billards by herself and joins her. Whilst playing, Hayate comments how Isumi gets along well with Nagi. Maria tells him of how they met at a party 8 years ago. Sakuya was making fun of Nagi’s manga, thus Nagi threw it in the bin. But Isumi picked it up and found it interesting and wants to know more about it. At that point, Nagi proposes to her and they have been best friends since. Soon enough Maria learns that hayate used to work in a pool bar and decides to have a bet with him where the loser does whatever the winner says. She demonstrates her pool skills and tells Hayate that his debt will be Â¥200 million yen as Â¥155,823,975 yen is too hard to say. Hayate starts to see he is losing and asks how he is going to pay back Â¥200 million, so Maria suggests that he marry Nagi as that’ll clear his debt quickly. Though he refuses to do so as it’ll make him look like he married for the money. He sees Nagi as the person who saved his like and she is very important to him, so he can’t do that to her. Maria sees that he is a good person and intentionally misses her next shot to let Hayate win.

Hayate confirms with Maria about the conditions of the bet, but before he could tell Maria what it is, Nagi is behind him furious. She tells Hayate not to lay a hand on Maria and ends up beating him up before going back to bed. With hayate on the ground, Maria asks him what he wanted her to do and Hayate simply request that she forgive him for the cashmere coat.

Impressions

These two parts were from volume 1 of the manga and I was wondering if they were going to show these parts. It’s rather a good thing that they showed it after all the character introductions but right now it feels rather fillerish. But of course the cosplay part was the funniest moments of this week’s episode as well as Tama’s and Klaus’s reactions. Though I was really surprised at even how well Hayate looked in the costumes.

As far as I could tell, there weren’t any references in this week’s episode (except maybe one). But I still find it funny without references as even in the manga it doesn’t have a lot of references compared to the anime. However the spotting of references is what makes this show a really enjoyable watch, but this week’s episode only covers on the minor chapters of the manga, so perhaps next week we’ll be seeing them again. Next week’s episode, Hayate goes to Nagi’s school again, but this time at night. Also Hinagiku makes a reappearance as well as Yukiji and the student council members. Much love for Hinagiku~~~
