With’s Chiaki’s orchestra members assembled, he conducts Mozart’s Oboe Concerto in C Major K.314. Though he notices Mine snuck in and told him he’s not needed as there are enough members. Once playing, he notices how everyone is good, especially Kuroki, the oboe soloist. Back home, he finds Nodame as hungry as always and is her usual self as opposed to what he heard from Mine’s father. She laughs when she finds out that Chiaki is conducting a Mozart piece as she sees it has a pink theme. So when Chiaki asks about her studies, she avoids the question by saying she’ll visit with lemons in honey, but he tells her he doesn’t want to her come since he doesn’t want to play around with this orchestra. However the next day she turns up anyway.

Angry about her, he questions her about her lessons, but Nodame claims the teacher is sick, but they are shortly interrupted by Kuroki. Nodame gives the onigiri and miso soup she made for everyone and takes her leave. Though Chiaki notices how smitten Kuroki is after hearing Nodame’s name. Inside, Mine is listening to Kiyora practicing and is so impressed that he asks her to become his teacher. A little shocked, they are shortly interrupted by Chiaki who wants to continue practice, but before starting he is interrupted by Kikuchi’s cell phone. Though finally starting, he notices how the orchestra is playing better, and can see the pink theme that Nodame was talking about.
Meanwhile, Etou is running around the campus looking for Nodame, where he eventually finds her in her classroom with friends, and then gives chase. Chiaki on the other hand finds out from Tanioka that Nodame’s new teacher is Etou and that Etou chose Nodame after hearing their Rachmaninoff performance together. Though Chiaki thinks that Tanioka should still be Nodame’s teacher, but he tells him that he’s not the type of person to motivate those who lack motivation. Tanioka feels that students are customers, and he helps them in fulfill their dreams like how he helped Nodame compose the Moja Moja pieces these last three years. Though he does feel that she has been changing recently.
The next day, Kuroki is trimming his reeds when he notices Nodame. He takes the chance to return the thermos and introduces himself. He tells Nodame that he is there early so he can shave his reeds as oboe players need to make their own. He feels that oboes are incomplete instruments, but he still likes to play them. This reminds Nodame of how she enjoys piano and how Chiaki questions her about aiming for a higher goal. She then asks Kuroki if it’s weird for someone aiming to become a kindergarten teacher wanting to aim for a higher goal. Kuroki doesn’t quite understand but he says that he would be happy if he could play the oboe better. Etou runs into Chiaki and explains the situation with Nodame, but Chiaki tells him that he doesn’t give normal lessons and that he brandishes the harisen. Though Etou says that the harisen is his embodiment of love, but still, Chiaki gives him advice.
Later on, Nodame finds a trail of Puri Gorota figures and eventually gets trapped in a room by Etou. With Nodame ready to jump out the window, Etou stops her by telling her that he isn’t holding a harisen and apologises for hitting her. Nodame says that she’ll take the lesson on a condition that he helps her finish the 12th Moja Moja. Though Etou’s condition is once they finish, she will start taking normal lessons with him.

Impressions
So Chiaki’s orchestra is now underway and right off the bat we can see that he isn’t going to have much trouble with them unlike with S-Orchestra, but as well that we can see their future performances will be wonderful. However it’s not only Chiaki moving forward, Nodame will be starting to move forward now that she has accepted Etou as her teacher. Though I was surprised at how Chiaki thinks that Tanioka should still be Nodame’s teacher, but after his talk with Tanioka, we can hopefully see that Etou will give Nodame some motivation in wanting to aim for a higher goal or to become a professional. It is probably also this reason of why Chiaki decided to give Etou some advice on how to approach Nodame.
This weeks we also see a bit of development with Kuroki and now we see that he is in love with Nodame. Though judging from the preview, we’ll see that his love confusion will cost him greatly. Another couple would be Kiyora and Mine as it seems that Kiyora has never been confessed to so I think we’ll see some development between the two of them soon. I also liked seeing Chiaki’s reaction when he saw Kuroki’s face, but also on how the orchestra was performing after the break, but it still shows his serious side and that he prefers music over love, hence why he still isn’t with Saiko.
Anyway, I’m not entirely sure how long the series is slated for, but if they are aiming for the same ending point as the live drama, then the pacing is still good and that it doesn’t feel rushed. Though given we’ll be seeing a number of performances soon enough is the worrying bit as like with the Rachmaninoff performance, that went pretty long. But that was a different feeling so it might turn out differently, so I’ll just have to wait and see.

I kinda of hate how you get the episodes before me lol ;p. I’m only up to the subbed episode 14 here in the U.S., makes me jealous lol. I heard the series is supposed to be 22 episodes long, still got a long way to go. Can’t wait.
Well I do watch this series raw as well as most of the anime that I blog. Though there are some series I watch subbed. Well if the series is slated for 22 episodes, that is pretty short unless we are going to see DVD episodes. If I’m right in where the anime will stop, we still have a lot of story to cover.
