OP: “Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku wo” by KAORI
With the Easter long weekend, it was time for a short break from all the anime of the Spring season and was time to get out and get some fresh air. Heading out to the city on a cold, drizzly day, man new discoveries were awaiting to be uncovered. Many new places for photography and many delicious foods, but more importantly, the discovery of new friends. Today I made not just one new encounter, but two! Yes, today I got the chance to meet up with two fellow HongFire members, icie and Windbell. Windbell is actually from Singapore and has come down to the land of Oz for a holiday and has dropped by into Sydney to meet icie and myself. Continue reading ‘A new wonderful encounter’
Taking a slight break from the influx of Spring anime posts to bring you a rant. Yes I haven’t had a little rant in a while and this time it’s none other than the crappy place that I still work at. Anyway, going into work on a Thursday night and walking into the loading dock of the store, what do I find? This:

Now I do some dangerous stuff myself at work, but only a danger to myself and not others, but this is god damn ridiculous. A few years ago when I only started out working at Woolies, one of my fellow co-workers were nearly killed from a cardboard bale falling on him, so we took precautions and made sure crap like that doesn’t happen again. There are a few things wrong here other than just 4 cardboard bales stacked on top of each other. Firstly is that there is nothing to support this and the slightest bump could send this tower falling. Second, these are placed on the yellow crossing strips and that they are not meant to be there. Third, what you see to the right is the backup generator. Yeah you can see where I’m going with this.
Obviously none of the people I work with would do such a stupid thing. There is only two people I know who would do this, my department manager and the store manager. My bet is the store manager. The store manager is a uniform nazi, he’ll look up and down you to make sure you have everything right, but when it comes to safety. Well obviously he doesn’t give a crap. This photo was taken at the end of the night but before there was a pallet next to it that had stock that had to be organised. If I was told to work next to that stack, I would simply refuse, but I felt sorry for the one who had to. Seriously, I need to get the hell out of that place.
My hate for Woolies is ever growing and if you are a high schooler or a uni student looking for a temporary job, don’t work for Woolies. Heck I would even go as far as not to recommend your future kids to work for them. That is how far my hate goes!

Impressions
Personally I wasn’t going to write anything about this, but I made a promise about myself to blog all the first episodes that I watch from this season. At a first glance, Touka Gettan so far has to be the most prettiest series that has aired this season, however, the major thing that let it down was by the end of the episode I felt really confused. I had little to pretty much nothing that I could understand from watching it, though with this being a Carnelian work, and having nearly the same staff who did Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito, it doesn’t surprise me that the first episode was utterly confusing.
After a bit of researching, I’ve found out that this is like a sequel/spinoff of Kao no Nai Tsuki (Moonlight Lady) which happens to be a H-game. The first series even spawned a hentai anime OVA and it too was visually pleasing but Touka Gettan isn’t a hentai series. Though back then I watched Kao no Nai Tsuki raw as not many people subbed it and I still have no idea what it was about, the same with Touka Gettan. But some of the characters do resemble some from Kao no Nai Tsuki.
So far there are a few characters and the first one is Kamiazuma Touka, who at the start appears to be a girl, but by the end, she is actually a he. Could this possibly be another trap? Next is his mother, Kamiazuma Yumiko, who happens to be a novelist who happens to be writing a story involving Touka and another girl, Kawakabe Momoka who is the main heroine of the story. Midou Nene is one of many maids that we see and she serves Yumiko tea and strawberry cake, and she wears some very sexy clothing. Then there is a guy who has a red shard stabbed into his right eye.
So far there is not much to know about the characters and from what I’ve read up, this is only a handful so far, there are a lot more characters to come. Really I don’t know how the story goes nor where they are going with this (neither do the Japanese fans who have played the game) but the only redeeming thing for me is that it’s pretty, and it being a Carnelian based work, I can imagine it being consistent through out. Definitely won’t be blogging this but I may give this another episode to decide if i want to continue watching it.
Note: Didn’t do a proper write up as I thought it wasn’t worth doing it for an episode like this.
