Touhouin Ikuto ran away from home but fell overboard on a ship during a storm. After a few days drifting, he found his way to an island and was rescued by a girl. When he came to he realises finds out that he is on an unknown island and is left in the care of the girl, who is called Suzu. Along the way to Suzu’s house, Suzu was attacked by another female native called Ayane, who wants to take Ikuto from her, but she failed and ended up shooting a dart at Ikuto by accident. At Suzu’s house after recovering from the dart, Ikuto takes a bath and Suzu decides to join him, causing him to have a bleeding nose. But of course Ayane also came by to wash Ikuto’s back but he ends up fainting.

But it turns out Ayane kidnapped Ikuto. Thus throughout the day he encounters various women from the island until Suzu catches upto him. It is then that the old lady tells Ikuto that he is the only male on the island. Upon hearing this and seeing the crowd of women after him, he decides to try and row off the island in a boat. The women seem to let him go easy, but for good reason, as it turns out the island is surrounded by whirlpools. Not giving up he finds a spot within the whirlpools and goes for it, only to be stopped by a killer whale, and falls into the ocean. Suzu ends up rescuing him and tells him that Sashimi, the name of the killer whale stops people going that way as the largest whirlpool is there. Realising that he did his best, Suzu welcomes him to the island, known as Airantou.

Impressions

Like every season, there has to be a harem show, and I have to say that this is the best one that I have seen so far. It starts off seemingly like a normal show, but once the other characters make an appearance, it gets pretty crazy from there on. A very enjoyable watch as there is plenty of humour and a variety of characters here but the best one I like so far is of course Suzu. Not to mention she is voiced by Horie Yui, but this time around I’m hearing that slight hint of Ayu in there. Though I find it somewhat hilarious that Suzu doesn’t find it embarrassing to be naked in front of Ikuto, but then I suppose most of the women on the island wouldn’t know how to behave in front of a guy. Either way its to ensue many hilarious moments to come.

The animation is done by feel, the people who brang us Otoboku and Da Capo which is very recognizable, but at least its very good. The use of the deformed faces worked in Otoboku and it works really well in this show, not to mention it makes Suzu so damn cute. With the setting on an island, with many different types of characters, the animation feels very colourful making scenes lush and beautiful as well as bringimg out the individualality of all the characters.

Music is great as both opening and ending are done by Horie Yui and I usually end up loving all her music. The opening sequence shows the crazyness of all the characters and how each of them want Ikuto, but the best one has to be the ending sequence. It was made to look like a renai game and I thought that was pretty ingenious given the amount of girls in this series, though such a shame that this series isn’t based on a renai game.

Well this was a definite enjoyable watch and I will definitely continue watching. Chances of blogging this are pretty good since subs come out pretty fast for this, but I would also like to see how Ikuto is going to stay alive for the next 25 episodes. Not to mention there’ll be some great crazyness throughout the series.
