In the past, a woman was fighting off shadowed beings and ended up being injured. Hearing the singing of a young boy, she makes a contract with him. In the present, Phoron is getting his bike fixed so him and his partner, Corticarte, walk off to find something to eat. Phoron however spots a young girl sitting on a bench but leaves her as she is. The girl remembers of a time when her grandmother showed her a brooch of a beautiful lady.
Coming back through the park, Phoron notices the girl again but this time appraoches her and finds out what’s wrong. The girl explains her situation (not exactly sure as I started to drift off, lol) and after some firm words from Corti, she feels better. The girl’s maid comes and finds her and the two head off to the girl’s grandmother’s house, with the girl sneaking in. Having found what she was looking for, the demolishion of the house was underway, with the girl still inside.
Corti senses that the girl is in danger and so Corti and Phoron go off to save the girl. So Phoron transforms his motorcycle into an organ (or something like that) and whilst playing, Corti transforms into her true form, thus saving the girl from any danger. The girl wanting to know who they are, Corti tells her that her full name is Corticate Apa Lagranges and that she is contracted to Phoron, who is a Dantist. Later on the maid that was with the girl tells her master of the two, and it appears he knows about Corti from a previous war. Anyway, Phoron phones back his office and gets yelled at by his suprior, and then the two ride off.

Impressions
2 minutes into this anime I was banging my head on the table and for a simple reason. God damn the animation is just horrible. I have no idea why it is horrible either. Perhaps they took a page out from Yoake and thought that they could improve on it, but it ended up going horribly wrong. Still, the animation is slightly better than the still screens on the official website. Though right now I can’t seem to find out who produced this series but it doesn’t matter now. My hopes for this were good as I’ve seen the cover art for the light novels and they are beautiful.
The ending sequence uses CG scenes from the actual visual novel (yes this is based on a visual novel) and I was hoping that the anime would be of the same quality. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case as throughout the episode the animation quality fluctuates between inconsistent and consistent. Heck I wouln’t be very surprised if we start seeing some Cabbage Love later on in the series.
As far as characters go, the only one that looks decent is Corti, but even at times it looks bad. Straight off the bat she is pure tsundere, but that’s all good for me since I’m growing to like tsunderes, but the best part is that Corti is the only decent looking female so far. Phoron seems to be a really plain character, but his talk with Corti over lunch shows that he has a unhappy memory which we may see later in the series.
The soundtrack I found to be a good point so far. Firstly the opening and ending themes I like very much though I say I like both equally. The music played during Phoron’s Dantist scene wasn’t overlly great, but it wasn’t bad. I assume we’ll be hearing more music similar to that later on. Also seeing Phoron’s motorcycle transform was pretty funny, not to mention it resembles Kaneda’s bike from Akira slightly.
The whole Dantists concept I find a little weird as I really don’t know much about Polyphonica. However the awesome guys at insani.org have released a demo version of the visual novel. So if you’re interested in finding out more, give the demo a shot. Overall I’m not really impressed by the anime version of this and I was planning on blogging this. However I will continue to watch for a few episodes and judge whether it is worth continuing or not.

From some of those screenies and plot summary, it seems like it just ripped quite a bit from the first Nanoha series. It all screams “generic” to me.
I hate it when anime/movies show fingers pressing on a keyboard, and the note that comes out belongs to another key entirely.
icie: It does seem a bit generic to me as well. But there’s got to be a catch to it if insani translated the demo for the visual novel.
Eleutheria: I didn’t pay much notice to the keys Phoron played here, but at least I know they don’t do it in Nodame Cantabile.
I dun understand y pple say that is anime sucks…i think that the animation isn’t tat bad at all…, at least better then yoake…since yoake is watchable.., y not this?
Why no grps sub this?!
actually there is a group doing this. chibi-neko subs. i want to see it done XD
