Taking a slight break from the influx of Spring anime posts to bring you a rant. Yes I haven’t had a little rant in a while and this time it’s none other than the crappy place that I still work at. Anyway, going into work on a Thursday night and walking into the loading dock of the store, what do I find? This:

Now I do some dangerous stuff myself at work, but only a danger to myself and not others, but this is god damn ridiculous. A few years ago when I only started out working at Woolies, one of my fellow co-workers were nearly killed from a cardboard bale falling on him, so we took precautions and made sure crap like that doesn’t happen again. There are a few things wrong here other than just 4 cardboard bales stacked on top of each other. Firstly is that there is nothing to support this and the slightest bump could send this tower falling. Second, these are placed on the yellow crossing strips and that they are not meant to be there. Third, what you see to the right is the backup generator. Yeah you can see where I’m going with this.
Obviously none of the people I work with would do such a stupid thing. There is only two people I know who would do this, my department manager and the store manager. My bet is the store manager. The store manager is a uniform nazi, he’ll look up and down you to make sure you have everything right, but when it comes to safety. Well obviously he doesn’t give a crap. This photo was taken at the end of the night but before there was a pallet next to it that had stock that had to be organised. If I was told to work next to that stack, I would simply refuse, but I felt sorry for the one who had to. Seriously, I need to get the hell out of that place.
My hate for Woolies is ever growing and if you are a high schooler or a uni student looking for a temporary job, don’t work for Woolies. Heck I would even go as far as not to recommend your future kids to work for them. That is how far my hate goes!

That’s an accident waiting to happen
:O I always thought company like woolies or coles has good safety work environment.
anyway you can try to sue them, who knows you will get lots of money :p
Maybe can send to current affair..^^
by the way ARIA Solid Works Collection is now on pre-order. http://www.hlj.com/product/BET13087. go and get it
still wondering if I should stay with my Akira figure order…:P
TedFox took the words right out of my mouth! That’s definitely an accident waiting to happen. When I was still in college I worked at a large clothing store and the back room looked like that all the time. I don’t know how people didn’t get injured during my year and half there. I did manage to slip a number of times on boxes and hangers laying around. People complained about it all the time, but management were a bunch of morons. I was actually glad to have to deal with customers instead of working in the back.
PS: Did you see the new StrikerS Nanoha figure by Movic?
I’m just waiting on HLJ to make it available.
TedFox: Indeed it is. Good thing I started later that night.
ron: It would be good, but bleh, I plan to leave soon, although perhaps I should send an anonymous email to HQ.
fisherman horizon: thanks for the heads up. And yes, keep the Akira order, you know you want to.
deftoned: Yeah I saw the Nanoha StrikerS figure but unsure if I want it. Her face looks a bit long. Also your previous work sounded pretty bad.
Damn that is crazy dangerous.
Lol, what is a Woolies?
