My Ayu arrived from HimeyaShop.com a week ago. I quite agree that this is a beautiful figure and well worth the money if you are an 'Ayu' fan.

I've been following your reviews of Kyoto Animation's version of Kanon with great interest. I would have loved to see Ayu wake up but you can't have everything I suppose.
Regarding the miraculous recovery of various characters; I think that it only speeded up the recovery of Mai and Sayuri since they were getting better anyway. However it did give a more rational explanation for the recovery of Shiori and Akiko.
Do you know what happenned to the extra two episodes that most web sites were referring to half way through production?

I am really looking forward to Clannad but how long will we now have to wait for the next series of Suzumiya Haruhi?

TedFox: I wish I ate more taiyaki when I was in Japan.

super rats: I noticed that with this Ayu figure. There weren't many angles that you could take a photo of her. I may try different backdrops in a different photo shoot.

baka: The funny thing as well is that when you see Ayu in her normal clothes, she doesn't look that small, but remove the duffle coat or put a uniform on her you can see just how small she is.

Ever since I saw the ending of the original Kanon, I completely despise Ayu. Also, it kind of bothers me how she always wears the same clothes (except when she tried out the uniform). You're right about the flat face but there are some figures that are sculpted like that(Feena for one). Nice photography by the way. It makes me want to retrieve my own camera skills from...3 years ago.

With a spartan studio shoot like this, pretty much all you have other than lighting is framing and it can take a lot of time to find that connected angle. Some figures have incredibly few of them, while others seem to have an endless supply. Anyway, i've taken to using two different backdrops sometimes just to break things up.
