Moé Moé Rabu

• Inamori Mika is running late for school and happens to bump into a girl she doesn’t know. This girl notices that Mika is from Seiou Academy and decides to give her a lift with her hover scooter.

• Over at the school, Mika’s friend Mitsuki is trying to call her but is unable to reach her as Mika is speeding along with the unknown girl towards the school.
• The pair eventually arrive, but crashing in the fence during the principal’s speech, and landing in the pool. The teachers find out that this unknown girl is a new transfer student for Class 2-A, Amamiya Manabi.
• Manabi joins in the swimming carnival but unfortunately screws up by getting caught in the lane divider. When she gets home, she shows her older brother the award she got.
• The next day, Manabi who is running late, asks for directions to the school from another girl, Momoha.
• Mika is giving a speech to the entire school about recruiting student council members, but everyone has fallen asleep.
• However, Manabi interrupts Mika’s speech as she crashes into the hall and wishes to be elected for student council president. But the principal does not allow that to be so as she does not know enough about the student council.
• So as a reply, Manabi starts singing that school anthem, which touches everyone’s hearts, so everyone applauds, making Manabi the new student council president.
• Later on Manabi introduces herself to her new fellow classmates- Class 2-A.

Impressions

Wow this was really cute, but it wasn’t something I really expected. So far this episode is only introducing the characters so at present there doesn’t appear to be any storyline. But I think Manabi being the student council president is a start. The animation is pretty high up and the soundtrack is great as well. Though I think what I liked best about it is the randomness of Manabi, so I’m sure there’ll be more of that in later episodes.

The song that Manabi sang I quited enjoyed a lot, and it being Horie Yui, I loved it even more. But of course it seemed that Manabi’s voice changed completely when she started singing so it sounded rather odd. The ED theme I’m not too sure on. Guess I’ll have to give it time for it to grow on me, but I do like the animation sequence. As expected of ufotable doing a claymation sequence. But since this is ufotable, I pray this doesn’t turn out crap like Coyote Ragtime Show.
