I can assume that they might be pulling a Mai-HiMEMai Otome (if that doesn't show up, it's a 2 sided arrow) with the recurrence of characters but only in the way they look. Not that I've actually seen Mai Otome yet but it's an educated guess... ...needs more yuri... that last cap in the preview made me happy in my happy places.
