Having pre-ordered this a long time ago, it finally arrived at my doorstep just before Christmas. But due to the overall holidays, wedding, recovering from various days of drinking and much sleeping, I finally got around to taking pictures. But when it arrived….. damn it was big. The Amazon box that it came in was roughly the same sized box as the Wall Calendar. Now when I wrote about the release information of this before, I knew the Poster Book was going to be big. And it sure was.
These photos are the front and back cover of the casing that the Poster Book is in.
Upon taking the casing off we get the actual book part that holds the posters themselves.
Opening the book up we get a spacer that sits in the middle. This is mainly to keep the book square and flat, but to also prevent the top cover from rubbing. Now onto the good stuff.

The most surprising thing I first noticed was that each sheet is double-sided. Now that is just pure awesome. The posters are glued at the top, but you can easily peel them off like that of a postcard booklet.
The other side of each coloured poster is a hazyish gold and white print of the main characters in ARIA.
I know a certain “someone” who would like this.
That “someone” would love to have this as well.
One of my personal favourites. I actually have this as my desktop wallpaper for my main monitor.
Even the male characters are featured, if that’s your thing.
I really like this one as well.
Truely one of the best of Amano Kozue’s artworks.
There’s even Grandma in her younger days. Also I think this is the first time I found out what her full name is.

Forgive me for the slight glare on some of the pictures but it is rather hard to take photos of posters which are shiny. All I can say is that I am glad to have bought this Poster Book. Each poster is an A2 size, so it is quite LARGE. Now according to the box, it says that it contains 10 A2 posters. Technically that is incorrect. Since each poster is double-sided that makes it 20. But then you have the cover sheets so it makes 24.
So now consider this. I paid Â¥2,857 (early bird discount) for this and the Wall Calendar I paid Â¥1,905. This poster book has 24 artwork prints, but the book cover etc also have artwork prints, compared to the Wall Calendar which has 8 artwork prints. So you do the maths. Well if you can’t be bothered, and neither can I, in short the Premium Poster Book is well worth the money. Although the posters are artworks that you may have already seen, but I think that these 10 selected are some of the best of Amano Kozue’s works, especially the wide versions.
Although I have bought this Poster Book, and posters you are supposed to hang, unfortunately they will be staying inside the book. The reason is simple. I have no wall space for such large posters in my room. Not only that I would prefer to have them protected and keep for collection purposes. It is such a shame as I really would like to hang some of these, but that’s just how the cookie crumbles.
Now if you haven’t bought the Wall Calendar and would like to have something ARIA related on your empty wall space, I would definitely recommend this Poster Book. Just the fact that it is well worth the money and larger than the Wall Calendar itself. For a retail price of only Â¥3000 I wish I could buy a second one, lol. Luckily Amazon Japan still have some in stock so you better hurry.

fisherman horizon: Trust me, its a well worth buy. But if you are going to be like me and not hang them, then you are probably better of saving your money. But seriously, the sheer size of them is enough to make me buy it.
painsama: Just live off cup noodles for a week or two and then you’ll have enough money for it
Suggested course of action:
Take them out and get them laminated.
Other than that, damn that’s a nice book, and i aint even a fan of ARIA.

Akua: I saw the first Premium Book back in Japan last year and I was amazed by it. Unfortunately I wasn’t a raving ARIA fan until the end of the trip and didn’t have enough money to buy it, plus not to mention the size of the box. You should buy this as it is well worth the money.

I’m not sure it’s good for my health to be reading this blog, this post really made me want to buy this poster book, and knowing me I’ll probably end up buying it. On the bright side, it’ll at least be money well spent judging from your photos.
