The pain and suffering that is known as CP1

When I was browsing through my folders on my computer, I happened to have found an interesting video. This video was a time lapse video that a friend of mine took during uni back in 2005. During the 2nd semester of uni, I had this subject called Computing Project 1 (CP1) and it required you to form a group and work on a project for either the university, or an actual client.

My role in the group was documentation and testing. None of the other guys wanted to do documentation so I opted for it. Now within the final week of the project, and the deadline coming up, every group was behind in EVERYTHING from documentation, coding, etc. So what my group and a few others decided to do was stay overnight in the CP1 labs and work on our projects. I of course decided to stay for 5 days and 5 nights. Yep, you read that right. I did not return home for 5 days so I could work on the documentation. But of course my friend stayed only 3 nights but left his computer for 4 nights. So the video below starts from midday Tuesday till late Friday afternoon.

CP1 Final Week

Now you are probably thinking what a nut. Well yes, I was rather insane in doing it but it had to be done. Simply if I was at home, I would have gotten NO WORK DONE AT ALL. Well lucky for me that I could drive and I could head out to buy food, but even more lucky to know that there are showers in the building that the labs are in. Normally these showers are for the uni staff who stay overnight as well.

Though it wasn’t all just work and sleep. There were hours of catching up on anime, playing Quake 4, still having to goto my other classes, and help out with the anime club. Food wasn’t a bad thing either, I either went to the shopping mall or drive to a relatives restaurant. But by the end of the week I was absolutely stuffed. I just wanted to get the hell out of there and sleep on a proper bed. The whole thing was indeed an experience though I could probably see myself doing something similar when I get a full-time job, but that depends on the job lol.

Kanon - 17 (Akiko and Piro Key cards this week)

  • Yuuichi returns home to be greeted by Piro and Ayu, and notices that he doesn’t look well, but heads up straight to his room.
  • Lying in bed, he remembers how Kaori told him that Shiori won’t live to see her birthday, but even if she did, she won’t last long. Kaori has told anyone about Shiori except for Yuuichi, since he became friends with Shiori recently. She also notes that Shiori smiles when she is with Yuuichi.
  • Ayu knocks on Yuuichi’s bedroom door and comes to sit beside him, as she felt it would be better to be by his side, and Yuuichi thanks her for that. But the two just sit in silence.
  • The next day, Yuuichi notices that the two sisters are absent. Later on, Yuuichi finds himself at Monomi Hills thinking how he can help search for a lost item, help fight against demons, but in Shiori’s case, he can’t do anything. He then questions Makoto what it was like for her and what can he do for a girl with little time left.
  • On his way home, Yuuichi by chance finds Shiori sitting by the fountain. Shiori tells Yuuichi how she used to come here with her family when she was little. She also had ice cream with her sister then and wishes to be able to eat it with her again. Shiori also tells Yuuichi that if she had more time, she would have come to like Yuuichi more and more, even though she shouldn’t like anyone.

NRMA Motorfest 2007 - Part 2

Ok this continues on from the last post. I am somewhat surprised on how well these photos turned out as I upped the exposure setting (+2/3). All these photos were taken using Program Mode, so I let the camera decide the F-stop and shutter speed.

WARNING: Picture intensive post.

NRMA Motorfest 2007 - Part 1

Having read about Motorfest in the latest issue of NRMA’s open road, I remember when I was about 11 and I went to see all these vintage cars near Hyde Park on Australia Day with my family. That was the last time I went and I don’t remember much from those days, but now I’m 22 and my interest in cars have grown since then. Also being Australia Day, I didn’t have much else to do so I thought it would be a good chance to check it out once and again. This time armed with my Canon 400D.

Australia Day 2007

Yes today is Australia Day. I hope my fellow Australian readers are celebrating this great day where ever you live. It’s a day that symbolises us as a nation and to celebrate when the First Fleet landed at Sydney Cove back in 1788.

Today I headed out to Sydney to check out NRMA’s Motorfest 2007. Motorfest is a collection of vintage cars that are shown to the general public. It has a variety of cars that we’ll probably won’t ever see again in many years to come, unless they are in museums. So armed with my trusty camera I went out and took photos. These will be posted in a separate post.

Though being the “Sunburnt Country”, I also happened to get sunburnt on my cheeks and nose, which currently looks like I have a permanent blush *^_^* . All in all, it was an enjoyable day, with a lot of walking and a lot of photo taking. Next time I’ll make sure to wear sunscreen. So open up that beer, fire up the BBQ, and enjoy Australia Day.
