With the end of the Autumn Season approaching in a few weeks, it’s time to look at some potential shows to watch and possibly blog about. At this point I’ve only select a few out of the 37 (according to moetron), but this may change within the first few weeks of the new season. The Autumn Season has taught me many things in relation to anime blogging, ranging from the usual anime episode blogging, to the fiasco of not enough editorials, and even my own figure photography posts that it takes a lot of time to do such things.

Thus with the Winter Season I’m planning on changing my blogging style. Hopefully I can blog more than 2 series this season along side with Kanon still, so this will mean less summary, and possibly less screenshots. One other part is that I may now start resorting to fansubs than raws in some cases, as it is also very time-consuming for me to sit and translate into something that I feel that could be wrong.

Anyway, here is my selection for the upcoming season in no particular order:

Rozen Maiden ~Ouvertüre~

Date: 22nd December

Well it’s another Rozen Maiden series, so why wouldn’t I watch it? With it slated as a 2 episode OVA focusing on Suigintou is enough to get me interested in this. Plus being an OVA means higher level of animation quality.

Hidamari Sketch

Date: 11th January

Art school and lolis must = WIN. From the looks of things, could be a slice of life, which I surely enjoy watching nowadays. From the looks of things there isn’t a male lead, so could this be another ARIA? Well we’ll find out next month.

Winter Garden

Date: 22nd December

Upon seeing the picture at first, it reminded me instantly of Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar, and I could recognise that it is Koge Donbo’s work. I loved Sugar and I love Koge Donbo’s works, and heck I sure enjoyed Digi Charat. Winter Garden is pretty much Digi Charat grown up, set 10 years in the future. Also a 2 episode OVA but also a definite watch for me.

Saint October

Date: 4th January

Don’t know much about this show but it looks cute.

Nodame Cantabile

Date: 11th January

I first heard about this from Omni’s post at Random Curiosity it from what he wrote, it looks to be very interesting. Plus I’m usually a sucker for music oriented animes. Oh and the above picture is what was on the site page.

Venus versus Virus

Date: 11th January

A girl named Sumire, pricks her finger on a brooch, belonging to a demon hunter named Lucia, has been given the ability to see these demons. So the two help each other to destroy these demons known as Viruses. Well not too sure what to expect of this one. Seems that this could go anyway but looks interesting none the less.

Getsumen Toheiki Mina

Date: 13th January

Obviously this is something to watch if you have watched the Densha Otoko drama series. I’m hoping that this turns out well as a spin-off series, though animation is done by GONZO. But as of late GONZO’s animation has picked up so let’s hope it stays that way.

Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight!

Date: 7th January

UFOTable’s new animation series. Now I enjoyed Futakoi Alternative when they did that, but Coyote Ragtime Show just failed for me. Another school based anime, but with lolis. Could it turn out like Ichigo Mashimaro? Well not sure, seems to be another series that could go anyway so I’m not expecting much from this.

Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora

Date: 5th January

I read somewhere that this is Kannaduki no Miko 2 in a sense. Sure looks like it from the animation style so I’ll give this one a shot.

To Heart 2 OVA

Date: 28th February

Now the To Heart 2 TV series was an utter complete failure and set the new bar for budget anime series. So with an OVA coming out we can expect something better. Also this time it’ll include Sasara and other characters from the To Heart 2 X-Rated game. Though still, I don’t expect much from it.

Shuffle! Memories

Date: 7th January

Hmmm, another Shuffle series. From my point of view, it just seems like they are milking it for more. Well I hope this isn’t just a retell of the original Shuffle! series and hopefully it’ll be a different ending since I wasn’t really an Asa fan. Come on Kaede or Sia ending!!

Kyou no Go no Ni

Date: 24th January

Oh the crazy and wonderful antics that 5th Graders go through in life. This will definitely be a good one as I thoroughly enjoyed the first two episodes and this will probably be the last episode. I look forward to it.

Les Misérables: Shoujo Cosette

Date: 7th January

Honestly I don’t know much about Les Misérables itself, but an animated version? Well why not. I expect this is be some sort of drama but it could lead to anything.

Well that is all I have selected for the time being. Quite a number of shows compared to last season, but as stated before, this will change after the first few weeks of the new season. I still have my current backlog, which is considerably LARGE, and with the New Year approaching, and the hunt for full-time work continues, I may find myself watching very little in the new season. Well either way I’ll get everything and probably not watch even half of it, increasing my ever growing backlog. orz.
