Rozen Maiden Drinking Game

Having posted the Suigintou Figure Review I suddenly remembered something. Rozen Maiden Drinking Game!!! This idea came from a anime marathon screening day with JAUWS. Whilst watching Rozen Maiden, neuralPLEX and I were joking about “desu” and thought it would be funny if we took shots every time Suiseiseki said it. Thus we expanded upon that and viola!

ROZEN MAIDEN DRINKING GAME

The Rules:
Okay, here’s what you do. Simply start watching Rozen Maiden and if something happens that is included in the list below you have the amount of whatever you’re drinking listed next to it. Under 18s might wish to have something else that’s legal, if you prefer (red cordial might cause interesting results). The game might get insanely hard at times and no responsibility is taken for hospitalisation of any players. Watching more than a few episodes will most likely end in tragedy.

Non-character specific rules

  • Take a sip every time there is someone (human or doll) drinking tea.
  • Take a shot (or two sips) every time the window in Jun’s room breaks.
  • Take a shot (or two sips) every time they talk about the toilet.

Shinku

  • Take two sips every time Shinku can’t open a door.
  • Take a sip every time Jun carries her.
  • Take a sip every time she talks about tea.
  • Take a sip if Shinku slaps someone, double if its with her hair.

Suiseiseki

  • Take a sip when she says “desu”.(ULTIMATE RULES: Take a shot on this rule one will need about 15 shot glasses per person per half episode and refill the shot glasses at the eye catch. If you want alcohol poisoning this would be fast.)

Hinaichigo

  • Take a sip every time she draws a picture, two sips if she draws on someone else’s stuff.

Nori

  • Take a sip every time she hurts herself.

Jun

  • Take two sips every time he makes a joke about Nori’s name.

Kanon - 07 (with a weekly feature of Kanon merchandise~~)

Makoto sneaks into Yuuichi’s room, but Yuuichi is ready and sprung Makoto asking her what she is doing. He notices that she is carrying a pair of scissors in one hand, accusing her of wanting to cut his hair, but she said she wanted to make paper planes instead. Going over to Yuuichi’s desk, she cuts out some paper out of his notebook, makes a paper plane and throws it at Yuuichi. But Yuuichi is shocked to realise that the paper is from his homework, so Makoto takes her leave.

In the morning, Nayuki is spreading strawberry jam on her toast and Yuuichi comments on how she has liked strawberry jam for a long time. Nayuki notes that if it’s Akiko’s strawberry jam she can eat 3 servings. Makoto walks in with Akiko who needs to get her ready for the part time work, so Akiko decides that she should serve Makoto some of her jam to give her energy. This catches Yuuichi’s and Nayuki’s attention, so they say they are full to avoid eating it. Makoto finds it interesting, but Nayuki is horrified to see her mother blob on so much. Taking a bite, Makoto’s eyes start watering and cries out “Auu”. Makoto looks to both Yuuichi and Nayuki, but they also turn away from her. Akiko tells her not to hold back and that there is plenty more.

Series Review: Noein

What can I say about Noein? Well I must admit it was actually better than I had thought. Everything from the storyline, to action scenes, and character development. It has been one of the more enjoyable series that I have watched recently. A science-fiction drama that is not clichéd like many other sci-fi series that are often plagued by.

Noein has a very simple storyline to it, but it handles it in a very clever manner, introducing plot twists throughout the course of the series. With some questions answered, it gives new questions unanswered, and this is what keeps your interest in the series. Pacing over all can be slow at times, very slow where I actually got slightly bored. But it does make up for it in content and action when it calls for it. The action itself is very fast paced, but it doesn’t give the feeling that the story itself is rushed. Something that is usually evident in sci-fi series.

Portraying a variety of characters, Noein has done well in developing, and exploring the characters, making the viewer draw into them and care for them. All this in the space of 24 episodes. Though centralised on both Haruka and Yuu, the other characters still play an important role. Atori is definitely a character who has a lot of development, from being a insane, emotion driven maniac, to a tragic war-torn person who is willing to self-sacrifice. Though episode 22 was a nice final touch to character development which makes you aware that there can be other side to these characters.

At first I didn’t really enjoy the graphics that much. But once I reached a few episodes in, the art work grew on me. It blends in well and doesn’t distract you from the overall story that is being shown. When it came to the action scenes, the rough drawing style slightly reminded me of parts of Samurai Champloo. But there are at times that the drawing style bugged me, but the story made up for that.

Now like most sci-fi series, there is always a great deal of technobabble, and Noein is no exception. Unless you have a good understanding of physics it’s probably best that you don’t watch more than 5 episodes in a sitting. The amount of quantum physics terminology used can be quite confusing (especially if you decided to wakeup at 5 a.m. and watch 8 episodes straight) but it is still pretty straight forward, and if you are a bit of a sci-fi junkie, then it will seem even more interesting.

From what I read of reviews and from what other people have told me, some say it has one of the best endings. I don’t exactly agree. The overall series and build up was excellent, but it has a very typical ending. A good one at that.So if you haven’t seen Noein, I do recommend you to watch it as it is quite an enjoyable series to watch.

Yoake Mae Yori Ruri-iro Na ~Crescent Love~ - 07

Feena’s father is looking through videos of Feena but is interrupted when he receives a call from Feena herself. The two end up talking about Feena’s home stay and about Feena’s mother.

Over dinner, Tatsuya and Feena find it hard to talk to each other. Feena tells the others that she won’t be attending school for a few days as she has duties to attend to. Mia is to be left to stay at the Asagiri house so Mia suggests that she take the mug that Tatsuya bought her. Though Feena says it’s unnecessary to take it along. Mai says that it will be lonely without her, but Tatsuya says that she’s the Moon Princess and can return to the Moon anytime.

The next morning, Tatsuya walks in the dining room for dinner, but Mia informs him that Sayaka and Feena have left already. At school, Tatsuya tells his teacher that he forgot his report on the moon. Kanon - 06

Seven years ago, Yuuichi met Ayu again, though a bit late. This gives Ayu the chance to tell Yuuichi that her name isn’t Ayu-Ayu, but Tsukimiya Ayu. Despite knowing her full name, Yuuichi still calls her Ayu-Ayu. The two are eating taiyaki again together with Ayu saying that it tastes better this time, although Yuuichi comments that it does since she isn’t crying. Eventually, Ayu also thanks Yuuichi for everything, causing him to blush. Ayu then asks Yuuichi if he loves his mother, which he replies he does. Ayu says that she does to, but she has passed away. Yuuichi feeling sorry for Ayu suggests that they met again tomorrow and the two pinky promise on it.

Back in the present, Yuuichi is lying in bed but hears footsteps outside his door. It is none other than Makoto, who is armed with some fireworks, which she lights up and throws into his room. Yuuichi, quick to his feet, picks them all up and throws them out in the hallway. The explosion scares Makoto causing her to cry out. This is enough to wake up both Akiko and Nayuki. Akiko asks her if she wants to play with firework. Makoto nods her head, so Akiko tells her that she should let her know next time. Yuuichi tells Makoto that she should act a little sorry, with Makoto giving Auuu~~ as a reply.
