Arriving early last week and after many trial and error in photography, I finally got some decent photos done. So here she is, Kirihara Kiraha from Kagime Monogatari Eikyuu Alice Rondo.

Having watched the series earlier this year, I quite enjoyed the costume design of the characters as they were quite colourful, flarey, and seemed to fit well with the whole Victoria type of setting. Seeing the preview pictures of the figures made me instantly decide that I would buy them, and I did.
Kiraha is the second main girl in the series, although not my favourite character, but she’s a caring person who loves he brother, Kirihara Aruto. Kagihime is about the author Lewis Carrol, who wrote two volumes of Alice in Wonderland. But there is rumour of a mystical third volume which can grant the holder one wish. So to compile the book, girls given the power of Alice battle each other, stripping the defeated of pages locked inside their hearts. Kiraha become an Alice user in order to obtain the third volume for her brother, Aruto, who is infatuated with the Alice story.
The pictures were taken inside my living room, mainly due to outside being rather cloudy, and me being too poor to go outside (driving uses petrol, and petrol costs money!). This time around rather than relying on the automatic shutter speed and aperture settings, I decided to try out the manual setting of the camera and I must say, they turned out way better than I expected. Majority of photos were taken with an ISO setting of 400, an aperture range of F4 - F5, and a shutter speed ranging from 1/40 - 1/80.

Well unfortunately Kiraha wears stockings, so no panty shots. Though what I do like is the change in colour from white and purple on the outside, to a greenish-torquise kind of colour.

Just like Arisu, her keyblade is removable. So you can replace it with anything that is of similar length and size. But really, who wants to swap over a keyblade?

Just like Arisu, this is a well made figure. The pose makes Kiraha look like she just turned arund, giving the swaying effect of her hair and dress and it complements well alongside Arisu. But with the keyblade along the back, it means that the figure doesn’t take up as much space compared to a pose with her keyblade sticking outwards.
With the lage volume of hair and dress, her legs are made with ATBC giving it the support it needs, so you won’t have to worry about her bending over (that sounds wrong) and it utilises a black raised ABS base. Though she is attached to it by screws.
The face is done well as well as the eyes. Heck you can even see the fangs she has upon closer inspection. Attention to detail is pretty good as well, even the hilt of the keyblade has patterns on it. Though the only minor rough part would be the edges of the dress, but given how it goes from one colour to another that’s forgiven.
Overall I rate this figure a 9 out of 10. It would’ve received a 10 but due tot he bunny ears, they are quite fragile and if you aren’t careful they can come off. Her left bunny ear is slightly wobbly, but that may be due to my own fault. Anyway onwards to the pairing photos!

During shooting of these photos, it started to get darker as rain was approaching, so as I changed the aperture and shutter to receive more light, it increases the chances of camera shake. Also kind of makes me wish that I had a wide angle lens to take group photos with.
Note: Recently I won an auction for macro filters, they should be arriving next week. So hopefully I can start taking extreme close up shots.

It’s a long wait for macro lol. I used the aperture priority mode when shooting figures with a dSLR. I guess I was lazy. Haven’t published any of my dslr figure photos though.
And I hate this series of figures. I hate frilly costumes.
Well when I mean next week, I mean early next week. Well setting the aperture and shutter speed manually gives you more to play around with. Generally if you leave it in one of the modes and you change the aperture, the shutter speed is adjusted automatically depending on the amount of brightness there is.
That’s pretty good detailing in the sculpt considering they’re 1/9 scale.
If you have the time, manual is the best way to go as far as exposure goes. With my camera you can’t do manual control in macro mode…another reason why dSLR is better. Control. You pay through the nose for it though.
