Yoake Mae Yori Ruri-iro Na ~Crescent Love~ - 03

  • In the morning, Tatsuya heads over to Trattoria Samon for work. But Feena asks what a job is. Over at Trattoria, Tatsuya is with Natsuki, where Natsuki apologises about him working on a Sunday, as he could be doing other things like taking Feena around. But Feena turns up wanting to know about working at a job.

  • Sitting down, Feena asks Natsuki why she is a waitress, with Natsuki answering that she never thought about it, but says that it’s fun and makes her happy to see the smiles on customers.
  • Sitting down, Feena asks Natsuki why she is a waitress, with Natsuki answering that she never thought about it, but says that it’s fun and makes her happy to see the smiles on customers.
  • Jin suggests to Feena help Tatsuya by being a waitress. Which Feena agrees as she sees it as a part of her studies. Tatsuya thinks its fine and say they should support Feena.
  • With Feena as a waitress, she is an instant hit with the customers. Even giving off a sparkly aura around her.
  • Jin does a demonstration of Feena being assaulted via a puppet show, but Feena thanks them for worrying, but says not to worry as she slices off the hair of the puppet with only the tray, since she is trained in using a sword.
  • After the store closes for the afternoon, Samon thanks Feena for the help. Although Jin was hoping that Feena was going to cause trouble and go into his arms for comfort, but Natsuki smacks him with her paddle and starts apologising to Feena.
  • Feena asks what they do now, but Tatsuya replies that they have free time. So Jin suggests to Feena that she have a cooking contest with Natsuki. Surprised at first, but Natsuki accepts the challenge to prove to Tatsuya that she isn’t Master Carbon.
  • Tatsuya and Feena are walking around the street looking at ingredients, and they happen to bump into Natsuki, who is with Mai. After shopping, Feena is looking at a shop window which has a mug with a rabbit and the moon on it.
  • Back at Trattoria, the cooking match between Feena and Natsuki begins. The judges are Samon, Sayaka, Takano, and a small blonde girl called Wreath. The first dish is a salad, which the judges are pleased with. Natsuki’s salad dish on the other hand, is black and burnt. The next dish is soup, which Natsuki also happened to have burnt. As the contest continues, each and every one of Natsuki’s dishes are burnt, thus in the end, Feena is the winner.
  • As Feena was about to thank Tatsuya for being with her, she notices that he is with Natsuki who is depressed about losing. Tatsuya still calls her Master Carbon which Natsuki knows since no one will eat her cooking, but then Tatsuya eats a piece of her cooking anyway, which catches Natsuki by surprise. With Feena being congratulated by Mia, Feena looks over towards the two and looks a bit worried.
  • The next day, Feena cooks some food but ends up burning it. But as Mia is saying its not Feena’s fault, Tatsuya picks it up and eats it saying that he didn’t get to eat any of Feena’s cooking yesterday, which makes Feena happy.

Impressions

Argh this episode makes me angry, but not in terms of storyline or such, but mainly the animation. Last week’s episode I didn’t notice the drop in animation quality until I watched it a second time. But its damn straight obvious in this week’s. Its like the animator’s took the week’s budget, spent it all on horrible food, got probably only a handful of people to draw and fed them the horrible food. Being only a 12 episode series, I was hoping for this to not happen, but unfortunately it has. The only consistant animation is during the chibi scenes, but it’s not like they need alot of attention. I really do hope the quality improves next week, else I will be having bloody knuckles from punching the floor too much.

Now I’ve only seen Iron Chef probably twice, but I found it rather funny on how they even copied the part where Jin takes a bite out of the capsicum, as that happens in the opening of Iron Chef. But what is even more funny is Natsuki, the infamous Master Carbon, who can even turn soup into something solid, black and burnt to a crisp.

Looking at the preview, seems to be a Mai focused episode. So it seems that the animators will be going for a girl of the week formula. But who cares about the other girls, more Feena and more Natsuki please!

Side note:
Also this week I’ve decided to take a different stance on my blogging. So far it takes me too much time to screencap and do a detailed writeup. So I’ve decided to do shorter point form but with the screen caps still. Reason behind this is that I’ve been sick recently, I’ve managed to get my friend’s modded PS2, I’m falling WAY behind my backlog of anime, plus I’m not exactly sure how many people actually read my entries. Thus I’ll start doing shorter ones unless I want to go for a more detailed approach for a particular episode.

Why didn’t you screencap that melon looking cabbage :p

I just started watching Yoakemae this week, and if the animation quality already reached that “legendary” level, then I might decide to stop watching.
