Moé Moé Rabu

We have the voice of the young girl from before talking about the endless dream. She wishes, just before she closes her eyes, that she’ll see a difference scene when she opens them. In the morning, Yuuichi wakes up to sound of his alarm, which has a voice recording of Nayuki. Opening the balcony door, to find how cold it was, Yuuichi hears a shrill of alarms coming from Nayuki’s room. Walking into Nayuki’s room, he finds all the alarms still ringing, but Nayuki sleeping right through it. Feed up with the shrill of noise, he turns off all the alarms and shakes Nayuki until she wakes up.

At breakfast, Nayuki notices that Yuuichi doesn’t have jam on his toast. Yuuichi states that he doesn’t like sweet things. Akiko says that they have jam that isn’t sweet, but this causes Nayuki to excuse herself from the table. After eating the yellow coloured jam, Yuuichi realises why as he starts to feel dizzy. Asking what type of jam it is, Akiko simply replies that it’s a secret with a smile on her face. As Nayuki and Yuuichi are leaving, Akiko says that dinner will be oden and asks Yuuichi to buy the ingredients. Outside, Yuuichi asks Nayuki about the jam, but Nayuki simply tells him to be prepared next time. Along the way to school, Nayuki asks if Yuuichi remembers the neighbourhood. Yuuichi says that he doesn’t and that it doesn’t matter much, but Nayuki finds that sad as even if there is one person who wants to be remembered, he should remember. Realising that they are running late, the two run to school.

Arriving at the school in time, Yuuichi asks why Nayuki isn’t exhausted, but she simply answers that she is the captain of the track team. Meeting up with Kaori and Kitagawa, Nayuki hopes that Yuuichi will be in the same class as them. Which of course they are as Yuuichi is introducing himself to Nayuki’s class. After school, Nayuki has track practice and decides to walk Yuuichi to the exit. Yuuichi asks Nayuki to not tell anyone that he is living at her house, but Nayuki has already told everyone and runs down the stairs. But Nayuki slips and crashes into a pair of girls, named Sayuri and Mai. Seeing that everyone is alright, Sayuri and Mai excuse themselves, but as Sayuri passes by, Yuuichi notices the blue ribbon and sees that they are 3rd Year students. Afterwards, Nayuki and Yuuichi part ways, but Nayuki cautions him not to get lost. Unfortunately, he got lost. Wondering around the school, Yuuichi is found by Kaori who leads him out of the school. Whilst walking, Kaori thinks exactly what Nayuki said he was a mysterious person. Also today is the happiest she has ever seen Nayuki when he joined their class. Parting ways, Yuuichi heads off to buy ingredients for dinner as he promised Akiko.

Whilst walking down the street, he hears someone telling him to move from behind. He turns around to see Ayu running towards him. Preparing himself, he told Ayu to dodge towards her chopsticks hand. But with Ayu being left-handed, they both collide. Getting back up, Ayu takes Yuuichi’s hand and they both run away, with Ayu explaining later that this taiyaki incident involved a dog. Walking along eating the taiyaki, the two realise that they have come to an unfamiliar area. Yuuichi says that he doesn’t know the area since he moved and was last here seven years ago. Ayu then realises that Yuuichi is the same Aizawa Yuuichi she knew from childhood. Very happy that he has returned and kept their promise, Yuuichi remembers who Ayu is, so she runs towards him with arms out to welcome him back. But by reflex, Yuuichi takes a few steps to the side and Ayu runs into a tree. As Ayu is accusing him of moving away, the two hear snow falling and see a girl on the ground covered in snow. With Ayu angry at Yuuichi still, he helps out the girl by picking up her stuff that is all over the ground. Walking along, Yuuichi finds out that the girl is a first year, and is surprised to find out that Ayu is the same grade as him. As the girl takes her leave down another path, Yuuichi stops her and asks her for the way back.

Back at the shopping arcade, the two apologise to the taiyaki stand owner. Ayu tells Yuuichi that she was really happy today and she wants to promise that they will meet again. So they two pinky swear like they used to long ago. So Ayu runs off, without leaving her contact information, so Yuuichi goes off to buy groceries. Coming out of the store, he is confronted by a cloaked girl who claims to have finally found him. Apparently she has a grudge against Yuuichi and starts hitting him weakly. Having no effect, the girl faints due to hunger.

Impressions

The jam incident was truely my favourite part of this episode. The effects used during this made it more apparent with the mysteries of Akiko’s jam. Though It slightly differs from the game if I recall correctly, but it’s still awesome none the less.

In this episode, we get introduced to 4 girls, well technically two, since Sayuri and Mai had a little bit of an appearance in last week’s episode, and so this week is Shiori and Makoto, bringing all girls into the fray. I am rather glad that KyoAni are sticking fairly close to the game itself, except for a few slight changes. Makoto was in a box, rather than a cloak in the game. But the use of a cloak added some nice flowing movements.

Also at the start, the alarm going “Asa~ Asa dayo~”, it sure brings back memories of watching the old series. And funnily enough, I have that set as my message tone for my phone. Anyway, for those who want a copy, this is a WAV file and its the actual sound clip used in the game. Download here.
