In the morning as some girls enter the school, a beautiful girl passes by them along with Mikado Mariya. Whilst in the headmaster’s office, the beautiful girl, Mizuho, remembers back to May when it all started. The truth is that Mizuho is actually a guy, but in his grandfather’s will he wanted Mizuho to enrol into Seiou Girl’s Academy. Although he objected to such a stunt since he was a male, Mariya had brought out a makeup kit and went to work on Mizuho, making him look exactly like a girl. Back in the headmaster’s office, the headmaster comments on how Mizuho looks like his mother when she attended Seiou Girls Academy, which surprises Mizuho as he didn’t know she attended this school. Talking about his mother, the headmaster does hope that Mizuho can become as wonderful as his mother. Upon summoning Kajiura-sensei, Mizuho is told that only Kajiura-sensei and the headmaster will know about his secret. On the way to the classroom, Kajiura gets Mizuho to call her by her first name, Hisako, and gives her a candy as a reward. Although Mizuho is worried that everyone will find out his identity, Hisako says that it’ll be alright. Introducing himself to the class, Mizuho sees that all the girls are silent and worries that they found out that he is a male, but in fact the girls find him very attractive.

Throughout the day, the entire school is talking about Mizuho and how pretty he is, and it even catches the attention of the student council president, Itsukushima Takako, who happens to find out that Mariya is a childhood friend of Mizuho. Back in the classroom, Mizuho is surrounded by his fellow classmates who are asking him questions about himself. Although eventually he needs to go to the toilet thus he excuses himself from the group. Upon arriving at the toilets, Mizuho can’t bring himself to entering despite telling himself that he is a girl, so he decides to endure it till he gets back to the dorm. As Mizuho is rushing to meet with Mariya, he’s stopped by the site of a beautiful girl in front of him. As the long dark haired girl walks past, she says gokigenyou, which leaves Mizuho speechless.

Having arrived at the dorms with Mariya, Mizuho asked Mariya where the toilets are and rushed off once she got her answer. Mariya sees that Mizuho had left his shoes and bag at the front but then also checks the bathroom when Mizuho is finished. She smacked him and scolded him about leaving the toilet seat up as that can give away that he is not a girl. Shortly they are interrupted by Kamioka Yukari. After being introduced to each other, Mizuho heads to his room to sort through his luggage, but on the way, he encounters a lower classman carrying tea up the stairs. He ends up helping her and learning that her name is Suouin Kana, and that she is taking the tea to the new student, which happens to be Mizuho. Entering his new room, Mizuho is surprised to see the room completely pink and she also learns that the lower classmen serve the upper classmen. Yukari is Mariya’s aid, and Kana is Mizuho’s. Kana says that she always wanted an onee-sama like Yukari, and Mizuho couldn’t say no after seeing her face. Later that night, Mizuho is wondering why his grandfather made such a wish when Mariya comes in for a visit. Mariya catches Mizuho staring at her chest and takes off her shirt to reveal her lingerie. Mariya actually organised a pyjama party for Mizuho with Yukari and Kana joining them. Seeing Mizuho is in normal clothes, Mariya takes off his clothes and makes him wear some pyjamas. Yukari and Kana jump onto Mizuho and start rubbing against him, and Mizuho starts wondering what’s going to happen from now on.

ED: “Beautiful Day” by Sakakibara Yui.

Impressions:
So far I didn’t find the first episode all that impressive. I don’t like the OP as much as the ED but I think that will grow on me, most anime OPs and EDs do. Animation wise it had the same look as Da Capo Second Season, especially since Feel, the animation producers, are the same people who did D.C.S.S. Even more so, Yui Horie is also the seiyuu for Mizuho, but I keep thinking in my head “Its a TRAP!” everytime I see Mizuho. With Yui being Ayu as well this season just boggles my mind right now. A lovable taiyaki eating girl with a winged backpack, and a cross dressing guy in an all girls school…..see?
Well with only being 12 episodes and based off an eroge, it seems rather short. From what I have been told of the game, the game covers an entire school year. Now that’s a lot to cover in the 11 remaining episodes and we haven’t even introduced the other main girl.
Well I’ll see if I shall continue blogging this or not, but I will continue watching it though. Mainly as the superdeformed characters look so damn funny its what makes this worthwhile to watch. Plus this was to be my replacement for Strawberry Panic which finished last season.

But, it IS a trap, lol…
But anyway, a female seiyuu for a male character isn’t too uncommon. Romi Paku did the voice for Ed and Hitsugaya and she’s a chick (Temari’s seiyuu). Wait, you probably know this… Oh well
I know that a lot of female seiyuus do male voices in anime. But Yui Horie is one of my favourite seiyuus and to think that she is doing the voice for a TRAP kinda makes me sad.
It’s based on an h-game. It’s going to suck.
But since I already burnt episode one on my DVD, I have no choice be to ride this one out.
It didn’t suck actually. It was very enjoyable. Just finished watching all the episodes, and it just leaves you feeling very warm and good inside. The anime manages to distance itself from the eroge roots fairly quickly, I think by the end of the second episode, you’re no longer seeing the fan service shots. Like the supporting characters, I had trouble really thinking of the main character as a guy after a while, only going, “Oh yeah…” when they brought it up. I think my only complaint was that it was too short: I wanted the anime to go on for at least the full 26 episodes. ^^;
