ARIA The Natural - Overview

Well with ARIA The Natural over it’s time to review my thoughts on it. I must say ARIA is one of the best slice of life animes I have ever watched, both season 1 and season 2. There wasn’t anything that I really disliked about the series at all, despite a few drawbacks on animation quality in some episodes. The adaptation of the anime from the manga was pretty accurate and was even more so with a few changes which made it quite fitting.

Animation quality throughout the series was consistent and there were hardly any scenes reused. The animators captured the beauty of both Neo-Venezia and the various scenarios, e.g episode 20 when Akari was rescued by Cait Sith. Only only at times, mainly around the middle of the series, does the animation quality drop in terms of character faces but that doesn’t bother me as much.

Like a lot of slice of life anime, ARIA doesn’t have a major storyline to it. The everyday life of a trio of undine trainees is a story itself. They various encounters they have, the growing friendships, and the many hardships they endure to become full fledged undines offers much much more as opposed to another slice of life anime/manga, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. YKK is a great series no doubt, but ARIA has more in terms of characters and story.

Music in ARIA is what also makes it very relaxing. Choro Club (they also did the music for YKK anime) and Takahashi Senoo did wonders in creating all the music and I listen to the openings, endings and soundtrack quite often. But the use of music gives the scenarios more of an impact especially come to the more emotional parts.

Overall I quite enjoyed ARIA The Natural. With many lovable characters and simple storyline of everyday life it is something you can sit down and watch after a long day of work. Though if you are the action adventure type of person then this isn’t your cup of tea. If you want something simple, relaxing and with cute girls then I would recommend ARIA to anyone.

Sorry painsama, yes I did get majority of the table from your site upto episode 20, and the rest I looked up myself with the manga. So if you have taken offense to this, I give my humble apologies and I thank you for pointing this out to me and taking the time to read my post.
