Well what a bitch, my internet just decided to die on me yesterday and I’m not sure when it will be back online. Hopefully it’ll come back today or tomorrow. Supposedly a fibre optic cable got cut and knocked out most of NSW’s G-Node customers. Anyway today is Animania so if my internet is back I’ll post up pictures and review.

Figure Review: Shana (Flame Haze Ver.) - Shakugan no Shana

Another figure that arrived with the Arisu figure earlier this week. But this time with a different method of photography.

Figure Review: Arisugawa Arisu - Kagihime Monogatari Eikyuu Alice Rondo

This week has been a busy week, with my Graduation Ceremony, anime watching, working, preparing for Animania and so forth, I finally found some free time to do a figure review. Here she is, Arisugawa Arisu.

Graduation Day

Today was the day of my graduation. After a grueling long 3 month wait I now officially have a degree in Computer Science majoring in Systems Programming. Started the day by arriving at uni, registering my attendance and acquiring my graduation outfit. I must say the cloak was heavier than I thought. It was also a good thing I didn’t wear my jacket underneath as I was pretty warm wearing the outfit.

Waiting around another hour before the actual ceremony I happened to have picked up my shiny plaque and with my sister took pictures but with the old Sony DSC. I won’t let my sister use my new camera just yet. Finally heading into the auditorium the ceremony started. More awesome time spent sitting, waiting for my turn to receive my testamur, and many speeches to listen to. Afterwards I met up with a few uni friends who also graduated with me then met up with my family members to line up for another hour to get professional photos taken. Had a choice of either bookcase background or a cloud green looking one, and of course, since I paid just under a $100 of course I’d go for the bookcase background. Get what I paid for! Then finally get my testamur framed, return the outfit and off to home. All in all the whole day took about 5 hours.

The picture of the teddy bear (the picture I took with the new camera) is a graduation present that my sister bought from the Graduation Presents stand. Its quite cute and with the glasses it is kind of like me. Though I kind of wished I wore my glasses today instead of contacts. My eyes were squinting in the photos due to all the wind outside. And also I took a picture of my framed degree hanging on the wall above me. I’ve yet to hang the plaque as it is quite heavy and I don’t think pushpins will be strong enough to hold them.

So now I have officially finished being a student and still in the process of finding a job. I haven’t had much luck finding a job but I’ve had one interview a few weeks ago. But the search continues!

My new expensive toy~~

Well after convincing my family, I now have myself a brand spanking new digital SLR camera. I happen to now have the Canon EOS 400D Twin Lens Kit. Now once these were released these kits sold like hotcakes. I was lucky enough to find a store that had a few left in stock. Unfortunetly they only had the silver colour in stock, where as I would have preferred the black one. The salesperson said I would’ve had to order it in, but god knows how long the wait would be, plus the black one was $15 more. Settling for the silver the salesperson even did a deal for us. Original retail price at Bing Lee was $1649. Bought it today for $1436 and even got a carry bag for an extra $87. So a grand total of $1523 and that is still a lot off the retail price alone.

Although I had to make a compromise with my mum and family. Seeing how it is an expensive item this is my combined birthday, Christmas, and graduation present all in one. Not that I mind as I really don’t have anything I really wanted. Well I would also like to take some pictures right now, but I didn’t buy a CF card (Compact Flash) as I know I could buy them cheaper elsewhere. I’ll be heading out to buy one tomorrow and hopefully I’ll have mastered my new toy in preparation for Animania this coming weekend. For info and pictures of the camera, check out the link below.

Canon EOS 400D Twin Lens Kit

But that’s not all. With my graduation ceremony only two days away, my soon to be step father bought me a suit to wear for all occasions, not just my graduation ceremony. Meaning its a $400 business suit that has been altered to fit my small self. Such is the joy of birthdays and graduating from uni~~~

ARIA The Natural - 25

With the season being autumn now, the girls are wearing their winter uniforms. Practicing in the morning, Aria is trying to catch a leaf and falls into the water, so Akari picks him up. Whilst rowing through the canals, we flash back to when Akari is using her laptop to check for any new emails, but there are no new emails. We also flashback to Aika who happens to spot Al on a bridge. We also flashback to when Alice was in class, looking at a photo of everyone from the New Year festival.

ARIA Calendars, Poster Book and Perfect Guide Book

After checking up on Moonphase and from fisherman horizon of Anime & Manga Horizon, the ARIA webpage has an update on some new items coming out. And the wonderful items that are coming out are as follows:

ARIA The NATURAL Perfect Guide Book

The Perfect Guide Book but for ARIA The NATURAL. I’m assuming it will be similar to the ARIA The ANIMATION Perfect Guide Book which covers character sketchs/designs, episode guides, interviews and a few colour illustrations.

Release Date: 22nd December 2006
Price: ¥1980 (including tax)
Available: Amazon Japan

ARIA 2007 Wall Calendar

An 2007 ARIA wall calendar for you to hang up nicely somewhere in your room. As for me Unfortunetly I’m kind of out of wall space and have resorted to the ceiling to hang posters.

Release Date: 10th November 2006
Price: ¥2000 (including tax)
Available: Amazon Japan

ARIA 2007 Desktop Calendar

If you don’t fancy a wall calendar and prefer a smaller version to fit on your desk, then this is the one for you.

Release Date: 10th November 2006
Price: ¥1300 (including tax)
Available: Amazon Japan, HLJ (order stop at time of posting)

ARIA Premium Poster Book 2

The second Premium Poster Book to be released. I saw the first one in Japan but didn’t buy it, and for good reason. The box to hold these in was MASSIVE, and carrying such an enormous box around Akihabara was not an option. I assume this would be no exception and the box would be rather large so shipping may cost you a bit due to its size so pray that it’s not too big.

Release Date: 22nd December 2006
Price: ¥3000 (including tax)
Available: Amazon Japan

Well some quite nice releases though I am unsure at this point if I will buy the Premium Poster Book 2. I already have the Desktop Calendar on preorder with HLJ and I may get the wall calendar. But will definetly be ordering the Perfect Guide Book.
