The next installment in the GITS:SAC series is a TV Special called Solid State Society. Only recently have I read up on news about this and I found something quite interesting. The feature will introduce animated versions of the two concept cars The Nissan Sport Concept and Inifinti Kuraza. The Sport Concept was shown at the 2005 New York International Auto show where the Infiniti Kuraza was shown at the 2005 Noth American Auto Show in Detroit. The two vehicles are driven by the Section 9’s team members.

Checking up on some licensing news from Otakon (which today is the last day) I found some interesting releases and not so interesting releases.
ADV to Release Utawarerumono (2006-08-05 12:41:20)
ADV announced that they have licensed Utawarerumono, which will be released in North America under the name Shadow Warrior Chronicles. It is expected to be released early 2007.
Now I’m liking Utawarerumono at the moment, and hearing this makes me cringe. Firstly Utawarerumono is not “Shadow Chronicle Warriors”, its “The One Being Sung”. DAMN YOU ADV!!!
Funimation Acquires School Rumble (2006-08-05 13:51:45)
At their 2006 Otakon panel, Funimation announced their license of the comedy series School Rumble. The company announced both the first and second seasons of the show, as well as the OVA; the series will begin releasing in 2007.
Well it’s about time. Firstly I think that School Rumble should have been licensed a long time ago and secondly I think Funimation could do a good job of it. But lets hope so.
There is also rumour that The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi could be released in the US next year. Several offers have been made to Kadokawa but does not have a distributor yet. Well I can see this being good and bad. When Haruhi gets licensed will it turn out good? I just hope it won’t be ADV.
