With Mini-Animania Sydney 2006 over I will now start the long wait till Animania Sept/Oct Sydney 2006. And with that I will be saving for it, as well as Supanova Sydney 2006 at the end of October. But like all conventions that I attend, I NEVER leave empty handed, regardless the size of the convention. So I happen to have bought the following…

One of few Australian conventions, Animania has expanded from being run by a group of university students and has grown into something much more. Today was Mini-Animania Sydney 2006, the first Mini convention for Sydney. Running for one day only it gives Sydneysiders a chance to preview what a anime-based convention is all about. For me, today I was a regular being of the crowd and I give you my impressions of Mini-Animania Sydney 2006.

Tomorrow being the day of the first Mini-Animania for Sydney, I will be attending but this time not as a helper, but as a regular convention attendee (meaning I have to pay for entry). Having attended last month’s Mini-Animania Melbourne it is now Sydney’s turn to see if it can cut it. From what I could see Melbourne was a great sucess, especially since it was the first for Melbourne, but how will the first Mini-Animania for Sydney turn out? Will it be able to match Melbourne? With Animania Sydney 2006 (the two day version) only 51 days away this is a good chance for Sydneysiders to preview what Animania is all about before hitting the larger one. Tomorrow I will post a review post with pictures and such.
As a small note, this convention I will probably not buy much merchandise as there is only a handful of vendors but it doesn’t mean that I will walk away empty handed. I’m sure there will be something for me to buy but spending will be kept to a minimum for Animania Sydney.

Well it looks like there will be a second season of Suzumiya Haruhi. I’m not too sure on the integrity of this but the picture below (info from Heisei Democracy’s forums) explains alot. Having watched the series and read parts of the novel, there is so much that Kyoto Animation can still cover. I’ll post more news about it as I come across it.
Looks like we jumped the gun on this one. It was all speculation and damn you Newtype for being misleading.

Also from my earlier post about Otakon and Kadokawa license of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu. The picture below is a flyer that has been translated into english by Kadokawa Pictures USA, Inc.

It has a good translation to an extent. Until you read “She named this club, Suzumiya adds Oomph into Space Club, in short, SOS Club.”. What the?? Well I can understand that it requires some translation part to fit the acronym but still…. Well from this at least licensing of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu isn’t that far off.
