Monthly Undine Volume 2 and Volume 3

August 22, 2006 | Author: | In: Anime Blogs, ARIA The Natural, Merchandise

After a very long wait (like 27 days since it got shipped!!) they finally arrived and I can’t be any more happier.

Monthly Undine Volume 2 (ARIA Company edition) and Volume 3 (Orange Planet edition) are the final two volumes to complete the set. Both come with the Monthly Undine magazine and a part of the ARIA Company house, where Volume 2 has the 2nd floor and Volume 3 has the top floor. The magazines, just like Volume 1, have articles relating to the featured Undine and the company they work for and also includes advertisements, Zodiac signs and a continuation of the comic serialised in it.

Published by: Mag Garden
Cost: ¥1143 JPY
Available: Volume 2 and Volume 3 (both discontinued)

Monthly Undine Volume 2 (ARIA Company edition)

Monthly Undine Volume 3 (Orange Planet edition)

Now when the three levels combine…….. we get ARIA Company.

The magazines are quite nice, but unfortunetly I don’t know enough Japanese to read all of it, and it gives a good feel that it is more than just a fan book with the addition of ads, Zodiac signs, etc and the mini figures is just something extra in buying the magazine. The ARIA Company house itself is well made but can easily topple over if not balanced correctly. I had trouble placing the little girls and cats whilst not touching the house, but given my shaky hands it proved quite difficult. The Monthly Undine series is truely something every ARIA fan should have in their collection and surprisingly enough at first I only wanted these for the actual magazines themselves rather than the mini-figures. So hopefully you can find one, but my guess is that you will probably only find them on Yahoo Japan Auctions at a higher price than retail.

It’s rather surprising since I’m more Alicia fan, but in terms of art Athena’s cover looks better for me. Alicia has bit weird expression or something like that.

Hmm, I actually like both covers. I find it interesting how I like every picture on the photographs you’ve taken from the magazine *__*

I want the ARIA Company house! You cannot believe how amazed I am by it… another merchandise I want but can never get *sigh* On another note, you have gotten me into watching another episode of Aria the Natural with this post… *thumbs up*

I had trouble taking pictures of the pages inside since I didn’t want to bend the book. So camera in one hand whilst holding book in other. Glad they turned out better than expected and no shakyness.

I’m currently waiting for my Monthly Undines 1, 2 & 3 to arrive, and I should have them tomorrow or the day after. I decided to buy them after I saw your first article, and it was difficult to find an online store which still had them. But I found one at last.

For those interested, you can try http://www.archonia.com. It’s a online store based in Belgium, and they have the three volumes, at 11,35 euros each, which is about 1690 yen. It’s more expensive, but as the books are pretty cheap, the extra cost is not too much. I think they ship outside Europe, but I’m not totally sure, and the shipping cost may be high. They’re pretty reliable, that’s the third time I ordered somethig to them, and the delay for the treatment of my orders was always under one week.

I hope this info can help somebody to get these books.

They look pretty good together.. Still waiting on my Vol 2+3 from HLJ(On their last copy, lucky me). For those in the US (and elsewhere, who don’t mind paying extras on shipping), I found Undine Vol 1-3 from Akadotretail.com. The shipping fee might be a bit high, but with combined shipping, it’s quite reasonable. Akadot has it on sale for around $16-ish — a bit high, but still cheaper than eBay.

Basically, the book is an actual magazine from the anime. The horoscope, the ads, the small comic, etc are actually based on the anime. Kinda gives you the insight of Aqua.
