With another summer on Aqua we have Akari hanging the laundry and President Aria dozing off in the shade. Akari notes in her letter to Ai-chan that this is hottest summer she has experienced since coming to Aqua. With Alicia coming back from her work Akari calls for Alicia and says that it is an emergency. Akari points out to the ocean and Alicia mentions that it is a mirage. Wanting to show President Aria they find him lying under a bench to get away fromt he heat.

The hottest time fo the day at 2 o’clock, Akari and President Aria go shopping. As they walk further on Akari starts getting light headed from the heat. Suddenly Akari hears a chime, focuses a bit, and realises that she is surrounded by stores with chimes. Looking around she notices that President Aria is missing and there are no other people around. Having noticed President Aria Akari chases after him and finds herself in front of a cafe. Upon entering she sees President Aria and sits next to him. Ordering a drink but the only drink available is iced milk. Talking with the bartender about what happened to her Akari realises the time on the clock which says 2 o’clock. The bartender notes that this is a special place, which Akari looks behind her and sees a seas of blue eyes. Sitting next to her is Cait Sith. The bartender tells her that this place is a secret place for the cats to get away from the heat and humans are not allowed. When leaving, Akari looks back and notice Cait Sith taking his hat off her to. Akari saying thank you and bows, when she looks back up, the cafe turns out to be a run down building. Looking up at the clock, it now says 2:05, and wondering if it was all a dream.

Another day of summer and Akari decides to buy a chime of her own. Whilst looking for a chime to buy, she meets up with Aika who is also looking for one. Whilst continuing to look for one, a chime rings out to Akari. Upon seeing it she decides to buy it. Aika purchases one as well and suddenly Alice appears besides them. With chimes in hand, all three girls head back to Aria Company to eat watermelon with Alicia. At night time, Akari has an idea and goes out on her gondola with her chime. Every night she has a tea party with President Aria and even has the chime with her during the day. Soon she realises that the glow in her chime is fading slowly and it is almost time for it to burn out.

The time comes for the chimes to burn out and return to the ocean. So with Akari, Alicia, and President Aria they are all in the gondola having tea. They also meet up with Akira and Aika, and also Athena and Alice. When the time comes every have their chimes and lets the stone drop into the ocean. After Akari’s has dropped, she notices something on her chime. She sees that a small piece of the stone has stayed on and Alicia notes that this is a rare occassion. Akari thinks that the chime was attached to her and didn’t want to leave, and suddenly she starts shedding tears. Afterwards Akari is in her gondola with her chime attached to the bow.

Well this episode is the first anime that I have blogged and I didn’t realise how much time it takes to do so. But since I’m still new at this I might be able to do it faster. Of course with my level of Japanese right now I may not be accurate in translation or not translate a few things but that doesn’t matter. This episode consist of two parts, the first part is from Navigation 17 of the ARIA manga, and Navigation 7 of the AQUA manga. Both follow the manga pretty closely with the exception of the second part which have all the characters as opposed to just Alicia, Aika and Akari. It was good they combined two summer episodes as it wouldn’t make much sense. Well since this is my first anime blog I may cut down on the amount of screen shots and text next time. Might even have to rethink the layout to set out screen shots better.
