Da Capo 2

Finally after many months of waiting Da Capo 2 is finally released. Though it couldn’t have been released at a better time, right smack bang in the middle of assignments and exams. But at least on the bright side I can play it sometime at the end of the week, assuming I am not sleeping like a log. I’ve had a look through the CG set and I must say, there is ALOT of scenary compared to Da Capo. From what I’ve read the CGs if they were in original BMP format it was a whomping 1.16GB of images. Either way once I am over this phase of uni work I’ll be playing Da Capo 2, and with my now slightly improved japanese skills I can hopefully understand the dialogue to some extent. Also its a good way to learn! Here are some sample CGs of Da Capo 2!

As a side note, my Japanese 101 speaking test went great. Except for the fact that I kept nearly laughing everytime I was talking. Having memorised the entrire speech as well, the laughing made me forget alot, thus relying on the piece of paper I had ready. I believe I went well and I enjoyed listening to my classmates speeches. Some were even done pretty well despite the fact that everyone made their speeches probably in the last 2 days before the test.

Well here’s to another sleepless week!

Two down, two to go!

As of now I have finally submitted two of my four assignments that are due within these next two weeks. After much reading (and going blind from so much reading) I am now down to two more assignments. The next one is my Japanese 101 assignment which isn’t that hard. All I have to do is write about myself, either real or made up (but I chose the real option), in Japanese. Though I am doing this harder than I should be as I am using words that we have not learnt in classes. These are mainly from my own knowledge from many years of watching anime. So now, back to assignment work, eating less, sleeping less, and trying to get shifts for work for more money!

As a small note, I’ve ordered Shana from Shakugan no Shana. From the preview pics I wish she was standing up rather than sitting down. But still, it’s Shana-chan, how can I say no to that?

One step ever so closer to graduating

Well its been a good long 3 years since I started uni, and today I finally handed in my application for graduation, though this doesn’t mean I’m guaranteed to graduate. I still have to pass the 4 units that I am enrolled in for this semester. But after paying off fees ($182AU) and fines ($6AU, damn overdue library books) from the uni I was able to apply. Hooray!

Unfortunetly this is not the end, it gets harder from this point onwards. Like most students, currently we’re in the 2nd “assignments are due soon” phase and I am no exception. With next week having 2 assignments and a speaking test for my Japanese class on Thursday, then another assignment due the Friday. The week after is half an assignment due the Tuesday, final exam on the following Wednesday, then another final exam and the other half of the assignment due the Friday. Ah such is the life of a uni student. Well at least its a good thing that I am haven’t been working as much thus being able to focus on doing the assignments.

On a happier note, HLJ have shipped off my Lucy Maria Misora (or Rukia to some of you) figure from To Heart 2. This now makes it the third To Heart 2 figure that I will own. Though I wish I ordered this the first time around rather than wait for the reprint. Either way it’ll be part of my collection. Assuming I don’t get too caught up in assignments, Imay take pictures of other figures that came in about 2 weeks ago.

Da Capo Second Season - Aisia

Arriving last week on Friday from HLJ comes the Aisia figure from Da Capo Second Season. Produced by Max Factory and still available from HLJ here. A good quality figure from Max Factory except for a small blemish that can be seen on the left sleeve of her shirt. But other than that I am pleased with this one. Although she isn’t exactly my favourite character from the Da Capo series, but its one of the few figures that are out. Click on the images for a larger view.

Aisia Front Aisia Back Aisia Right Side

Aisia Left Side Aisia Front Straight Aisia Front Close

Overall I give this figure a 6 out of 10 due to the snip bit on her left sleeve, but also probably because she isn’t a favourite character. But then you’re probably wondering why I bought this then? Simple, I don’t have enough Da Capo figures.

This month we should see the release of Shirakawa Kotori (my personal favourite) and Konomiya Tamaki. HLJ are still taking orders for both but I have not seen a preview of the Tamaki one. Oh well the only way to find out is when I get it. But I am eagerly awaiting Kotori.

As a small note, this is my second attempt at using lighting to take photos. I am getting better at it but I still need more practice. Though I did take the ones above in 5 minutes and at 1 a.m. Thus this is now my second go at uploading and displaying pictures in posts.

New domain~~

It’s official. Adunitisity has now moved to it’s new hosting all thanks to neuralPLEX for supplying it for me. Though when I get around to it I may register my own and use the domain name that I want. But at least this way it’s faster for others to view and not kill my internet.

Also with the hype of E3, I managed to watch the Nintendo and Microsoft Press Conference. Both have shown many good things, thus all there is left is the Sony Press Conference. From various sources I’ve read that this year’s conference was not as good as last year’s. But at least there is more definite information about the Playstation 3. Though the press conferences aren’t the only thing to watch, many many game trailers are out and some have turned out good. Previews from last year’s E3 make a return, especially Prey, which have shown greater improvements and is a game that I would be looking forward to.

Another day another dollar

That’s what I would like to say after another day at work, but today I now have a big gap in my wallet. After a good $319 AU on a new starter motor (including fitting) I have a running car again. At least I have a 12 months warranty on it so if it dies again I can take it back. I was told by the auto electrician that I was lucky to get the last one for my engine type as his supplier had 1 left. Woot! So now after much money been thrown to the car, at least the car starts up straight away, rather than struggling to kick in. Now hopefully I can pay my uni fees next week and not throw my money at any more unexpected occurances.

One of the Three Woes of a car strikes!

I seem to not have any luck with money these last few weeks. The Three Woes of a car are the starter motor, the alternator, and the distributor. Today for me it was the starter motor. It couldn’t have happened at a better time, now with all the money that I was going to use to pay my uni fees now go straight to buying a new starter motor. But the money trouble didn’t start there. When I discovered that my car wouldn’t start, there was only one option, NRMA Roadside Assistance. Now I had membership with them before. BUT my membership expired a good 3 months ago. Therefore $81 straight to NRMA to pay for membership and for them to send out Roadside Assistance.

Its a good thing that this happened after peak hour morning traffic. I would hate to think how long I would be waiting for but it only turned out to be 40 minutes at most. Thus sitting around doing nothing but playing Initial D on my PSP (kinda ironic huh, playing a car game in my broken down car) until my saviour arrived. After a few minutes of tinkering around that is when we discovered the problem. But afterwards it turned out I could still start the car, and it’s something I learnt today, and that was with a clutch start. Simply all you do is have the car facing one direction, preferbly not towards a gutter or you’ll be pushing all day. Have one person in the drivers seat, and one pushing. Leave the gear in 1st gear but with the clutch depressed. Now get the 2nd person to push and when you get a bit of speed, pop the clutch up and it should start. BUT to remember to push it back down once it or does you’ll stall the car. Though this works in a manual car, I’m not sure how you would go about starting an automatic.

Now with the car running I decided to drop uni for the day and headed for home. Can you imagine doing a clutch start at uni? Not easy since there is hardly room to push a car around. Thus getting home, rang up a few places and decided on a place that was situated right behind the exhaust place where I got my exhaust system fitted. All in all I’m getting this problem fixed tomorrow. All at a cost of $280AU for a brand new starter motor, and roughly $44AU for installation. Better than my price quote from a Nissan $tealership which quoted a ridiculous $910 just for the part. So it looks like I’ll be living of minimal amount of food again once again this week. And paying my uni fees will be done another day. At this rate it seems like I’ll be doomed to stay at uni for a whole semester. But I pray that does not happen.
